world

But Mr. Moorthy your following "Press Statement" is not appropriate, you

wrote only two small lines for his death why??????????

Mr. Ramasundram has given his life for Hindu cause, kindly change this

statement ASAP. Emphasize more on this death and his scarifies

thanks.

PRESS STATEMENT

 

Today is indeed a sad day for the entire Malaysian population

irrespective of race or religion who believed in the SANCTITY AND SUPREMACY

of the FEDERAL CONSTITUTION.

 

A TRUE HINDU Mr K. Ramasundram, Chairman of the Mariamman Temple

Seksyen 19 Shah Alam Selangor Malaysia gave his life about an hour ago (6

pm Malaysian Time) to the Draconian Malaysian Government which had been

ruthlessly and barbarically destroying pre Independence and ancient Hindu

Temples throughout the country on the false premises that is painted to the

world on the status of these legitimate temples which had existed since the

British Colonial era and by virtue of Article 11 of the Federal

Constitution.

 

The late Mr K. Ramasundram led a 30 member delegation to meet the

Selangor State Government officials on a scheduled official meeting after

having consulted and advised by our Legal Adviser Mr.P.Uthayakumar on 3rd

November 2006.(Reported by Makkal Osai Daily 4th November 2006 Pg 3) The

Selangor State Government promised the delegation that top ranking officers

including the Petaling District Officer would be present to resolve the

issue of demolishing particularly the 6 Hindu Temples situated in and

around Shah Alam in the State of Selangor ranging from about 60 - 109 year

old Temples.

 

At the said scheduled meeting at 3.00pm today the delegation were

"cheated" into a meeting that was presided by a low ranking Pro Government

HINDU OFFICER. WHY? This is a typical strategy by the Malaysian Government

to let the Hindus "fight it out among themselves" whilst the Government

could claim that the "negotiations" were presided by HINDU officers so it

must have been a "fair decision" but the Temple Committee refused to accept

the Government's "alternative" plans ie to demolish the 6 Hindu temples

situated in residential areas in the midst of the respective Hindu Community

and relocate all 6 to a small piece of lowest grade land (next to highway,

filthy river, high tension wire, Railway line and in the midst of an

industrial area).

 

At the meeting today Mr K. Ramasundram vociferously advocated the

rights of these 6 and all Hindu Temples in Malaysia to exist by virtue of

its pre independent existence and also by virtue of Article 11 of the

Federal Constitution. He questioned the moral and legal rights of the

Malaysian Government to aggressively pursue this silent agenda of cleansing

of Hindu Temples and the erasure of Malaysian Hindu migration landmarks from

the face of this beloved land.

 

He rightly pointed out as to the mushrooming of mosques throughout

the country with taxpayers funds but this never was a problem for the Hindus

but why is the agenda to demolish existing temples nationwide (Contrary to

Article 8 of the Federal Constitution- Equality before the Law). Despite

this cogent argument by Mr. K. Ramasundram the Selangor State Government

officials repeated the Selangor Chief Minister Dato Seri Khir Toyo's

statement to the press 3 days ago that (in effect almost 95% of the

estimated 5000 Hindu Temples in Selangor) would be demolished. This was the

last straw that broke the Camel's back. Mr K. Ramasundram's emotional

parting words were that " I will fight till the end" and he surely kept to

his words for as he walked out of the meeting hall to be interviewed by the

waiting reporters he just collapsed as a result of suffering a heart attack.

 

Witnesses (other temple Chairmen and representatives) who immediately

contacted us confirmed that he made an emotional plea to the State officials

(albeit low ranking officers) to stop this demolishment,desceration and

humiliation of Hindu Temples and dieties. As he collapsed a witness heard

him murmur "GOD SAVE THIS COUNTRY.........??? !

 

HINDRAF once again reiterates its earlier call to the Government to

stop these atrocities and humiliation of Hindus in Malaysia. The Government

has built thousands of mosques/allocated land throughout the country in

particular over the last 15 years with taxpayers funds but we the loyal

Malaysian Hindus and other non muslims never questioned this as we truly

respect the Federal Constitution and provisions of Article 11(Freedom of

Religion).

 

As the number one citizen of the country we challenge the Hon Prime

Minister to reaffirm his oath of office in protecting the Sanctity and

Supremacy of the Federal Constitution before the Yang Dipertuan Agong

(King) afresh (immediately) as his inactions/silence/deliberate refusal to

make a stand on the issue of Hindu Temple demolishments have left his hands

"bloodied with the life of Mr K.Ramasundram.
