thirucciRRambalam

Meaning:

Before walking limpingly, holding to a stick in one hand,

painfully coughing, languishing, foaming out,

pushing up phlegm flowing like a river from mouth,

- oh mind, call out (the Lord of) thiruvaiyARu!

Notes:

1. aiyaDikaL kADavarkOn sings one song per temple.

The songs warn the people against ignoring God

due to material pursuits and at later stages painfully suffering!

(He was the great emperor of the pallava kingdom before.)

2. kun^thi - limping; ai - phlegm.
