Namaste Andrew, boiling water is safe to use on genuine rudraksh

beads. Without seeing a pic of your beads, its difficult to conclude

whether its oil or resin.

 

Perhaps Sri Dharma Dev Arya and other friends here may be able to

tell us more as I haven't experienced something similar to what

you've described. All beads that I got from Rudra Centre are of

pristine condition and high quality.
