Venus in 12th

Dear all,

Brihat Jataka, Phaladeepika and and Chamatkar Chintamani have given

good results for Venus placed in 12th with regards to wealth.

Saravali has given bad results for same placement.

Bhrigu Sutra says that if Venus is associated with malefic then

extreme poverty would be faced by native while association with

benefic would make native extreme rich.

Bhavartha Ratnakar in shloka 4 and Chapter 6th says that Venus

in 6th gives same Yoga effect (Wealth),which he gives by being

posited in the 12th house.

In Harshad Mehtas case the Venus MD starts when he is aged 43.

Did he live to that age ? I do not know cause I have not

studied about his life incidents datewise ,just know about his

liason with Share Markets. His Venus is also in star of

the 10th and Ascendant Lord which is Mercury.Somehow Venus

giving him/denying him wealth just if we take the planet

alone in isolation does not make sense. Venus can just

be favourable on unfavourable in this chart and not the

primary indicator.

But we may conclude that Venus in 12th does give good

wealth, except perhaps in few cases.

regards,

Bhaskar.

Dear Bhaskar,

I have the following info. on Harshad Mehta from Wikipedia:

[[[by the end of eighties the media started projecting him as

"Stock Market Success", "Story of Rags to Riches" and he too

started to fuel his own publicity. He felt proud of this

accomplishments and showed off his success to journalists

through his mansion "Madhuli" ,which included a billiards room,

mini theatre and nine hole golf course. His brand new Toyota

Lexus and a fleet of cars gave credibility to his show off. This

in no time made him the nondescript broker to super star of

financial world.

During his heyday, in the early 1990s, Harshad Mehta commanded a

large resource of funds and finances as well as personal wealth.

The fall

In April 1992, the Indian stock market crashed, and Harshad

Mehta, the person who was all along considered as the architect

of the bull run was blamed for the crash. ......... The panic

reaction ensued, and the stock market reacted and crashed within

days.He was arrested on June 5, 1992 for his role in the

scam.]]]

It looks like he made good money during Budha MD. Budha is the

lagna lord sitting in the 10th (profession) with Guru who is the

lord of 7th (business). However, his downfall came in during

Ketu dasha. Ketu is also in the 10th conjunct with Budha and

Guru.

I am trying to understand find if the bandhana yoga can be seen

in his chart. The definition of Bandhana Yoga is that the lord

of Lagna and lord of 6th should join a Kendra or Kona in

conjunction with Sani or Rahu or Ketu.

In this case, though lagna lord is in a Kendra conjunct with

Ketu (note he was arrested during Ketu MD), the sixth lord Rahu

is in another Kendra and not conjunct with the lagna lord.

Should we consider that Rahu being in a Kendra aspects Lagna

lord which somewhat fulfils the definition of Bandhana Yoga?

Regards,

Krishna

Dear All,

My 2 cents if you all done mind.

Take kalpurush chart and Ve rules 2nd and 7th house (Taurus and

Libra).

Venus in 12th house in 12th house in kalpurush chart means in Pisces

so its natural unncha sthan. Now here 2 scenarios. Venus with less

than 4 bindus and Venus with more than 4 bindus. Keeping these

aside, I will focus on only the natural nature.

Venus is karak for wife and partners (2nd is 8th from 7th and 8th

hosue is what I call karak (heads up), just explaining my self as

othesr might call it something else so please try to understand the

essence).

Venus is also karak for 12th house i.e. 8th from natural 12th house.

Now Venus in 12th house means its in 11th from 2nd house (upachya)

and its also in upachya from 7th house.

So karak of 7th house goes to 12th.

Planets in upachya sthan which is the house of growth. So

significance of 2nd and 7th house will get enhanced.

So reading posts from the knolwegable on list and who quoted some

texts the essense was

1) Richs and wealth (natural 2nd lord in 12th house, i.e. upachya)

2) Good wife (7th lord in upachya and natural unccha rashi)

3) Travel to Foreign land (Karak for 12th, long journeys in Karak

sthan means 7th lord in 12th house so enhancing the effect of 7th

house which can indicate foreign journey)

Yes, one more law which might be against the norm and we follow in

KAS is that planet in 12th house of the chart, then it means that

the result of the houses ruled by the planet get Enhanced and also

the place where 12th lord goes and sits in the chart the result of

that house is enhanced. Here by Result I mean quality of the house.

So also keeping this law in mind, Natural 2nd and 7th lord going

into natural 12th house might also mean that the result of 2nd and

7th house gets enhanced.

So what all of you have said by quoting books is dealing with Wealth

and Travel and Spouse.

Cheers !!!

Dear Wendy and Bhaskar,

Sorry I didn't follow this interesting thread- so please excuse me if I repeat question you might have dealt with already.

Wendy, bhaskar and Ash you all mentioned that venus is favourable in the sixth H. /among others/. Why is that so? because of it's aspect to 12th?

On the other hand Venus in sixth /dusthana/ is in maraka karaka stana, thus extremely negative for all it's significations /relationship in particular/. I have one doubt re this- that wealth is not that adversely affected/??/

Would you please comment?

Thanks,

Anna

Re: Venus in 12th

Cheers !!!

Dear Anna,

Thank you for contributing to this discussion.

Could you please elaborate as to why you think Venus in the 8th house seems to work? I think that should depend on the ascendant. If the lagna is for example Aquarius I cannot see how Venus can work well as it would be debilitated...

I find this whole discussion quite interesting but would like if learned members would clarify things and shed light on this matter.

Best wishes, Rui.

Dear Rui,

It's hard for me to remember the source of this statement- but I remembered it just because of its 'weirdness'- 8th H kalp. Sc: how than venus can work well- some number of charts I've seen do indeed what we tend to consider 'favourable: 'Zest for life', good libido, joy...when we think of 8thH, it's house of life, from that point this makes sense..

Anna

I find this whole discussion quite interesting but would like if learned members would clarify things and shed light on this matter.

Take kalpurush chart and Ve rules 2nd and 7th house (Taurus and

Dear Thomas,

For the chart under discussion, Venus owns 2nd house of finances and 9th

house of good-fortune. For you, Venus owns 7th and 12th. The planets

position in (any) house will reflect the significations of the houses it

rules...is this not so?

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Re: Venus in 12th

Hello to all.

I was born with Scorpio rising, Venus and Rahu both in Libra in the

twelfth. While I cannot vouch for any of the "wealth" that the sages

attribute to such a placement, I can attest that there have been many

foreign travels, much of the "bed pleasures" attributed to this

placement, as well as many adventures with beautiful women from

different countries.

There have also been uinary and bladder troubles, surgery and

hospitalizations due to lower lumbar (Venus) troubles, as well as

left eye troubles (twelfth house). While there may be other horoscope

indications which can contribute to the troubles I report, the

operating periods, sub periods and major transit influences all

implicate either Venus, Rahu or both during the more problematic

events.

Maybe the "wealth" indicated is associated with spiritual practices

and experiences; in that case, I have been quite fortunate and

blessed with much "Wealth".

Thank you all for allowing me to contribute to the discussion.

Thomas

Dear Anna,

I would not like to go without sending you a reply although I am tired so help me Mercury ;-)

So I was thinking that yes Venus can be good in the 8th under certain circumstances but I would not say this would be a rule of thumb... Venus in 8th could for example be good for the marriage longevity, but I would still be concerned to see Venus in 8th as this is the house of "chronic ailments, dangers, agonies, accidents, enemies, conflicts", etc... Of course, I do not have a lot of experience, am just expressing my opinion from what I have read so far.

Wish you a good weekend and best wishes, Rui.

Dear Krishna.

Frankly I am not aware of Bandhan Yoga and its nuances.

Will try to dissect this financial wizards horoscope in few

days time. Have 3 exams successively in next 3 weeks. So can

only write on general things, study part I am not able to do

cause that time is presently taken up by my preperations.

Thank You.

regards,

Bhaskar.

thumb... Venus in 8th could for example be good for the marriage

longevity, but I would still be concerned to see Venus in 8th as this

is the house of "chronic ailments, dangers, agonies, accidents,

enemies, conflicts", etc... Of course, I do not have a lot of

experience, am just expressing my opinion from what I have read so

far.

Dear Rui,

I missed these your words:..."If

the lagna is for example Aquarius I cannot see how Venus can work

well as it would be debilitated. .." Sure- you cannot, LOL. OR if it is badly afflicted, in bad avaasta..etc.. But these are not issues we try to clarify here, are they? Why don't you simple ask about exception in your chart ? And join/let the discussion going instead "obstructing it"

certain circumstances but I would not say this would be a rule of

thumb... Venus in 8th could for example be good for the marriage

longevity, but I would still be concerned to see Venus in 8th as this

is the house of "chronic ailments, dangers, agonies, accidents,

enemies, conflicts", etc... Of course, I do not have a lot of

experience, am just expressing my opinion from what I have read so

far.

than venus can work well- some number of charts I've seen do indeed

what we tend to consider 'favourable: 'Zest for life', good libido,

joy...when we think of 8thH, it's house of life, from that point this

makes sense..

Dear Nalini,

I was trying to understand why Anna said Venus worked well in the 8th house. This is a discussion forum for learning Jyotish and therefore things have to be clarified. Could you please explain how my email came across as being an obstruction to you when my intention was exactly the opposite?

I do understand that Venus meaning small fortunes may in some cases be well placed in the 8th house of inheritance but that does not make it a rule, don't you think?

I have been a member of this group ever since it started and I have learnt a lot with Wendy and other leraned members because I question them in order to fully understand things. And I would never expect this to be seen as an obstruction, but then of course I see your email as hostile and maybe that was not your intention either...

Regards, Rui.

Dear Rui,

I missed these your words:..."If

the lagna is for example Aquarius I cannot see how Venus can work

well as it would be debilitated. .." Sure- you cannot, LOL. OR if it is badly afflicted, in bad avaasta..etc. . But these are not issues we try to clarify here, are they? Why don't you simple ask about exception in your chart ? And join/let the discussion going instead "obstructing it"

Regards, Nalini,

Yours,

Dear Wendy ji and Anna ji,

I would vouch for that :-))

certain circumstances but I would not say this would be a rule of

Dear Rui ji,

Namaskar.

I am extremely sorry to inform you that the message you are

referring to below

Dear Rui,

it is badly afflicted, in bad avaasta..etc. . But these are not

issues we try to clarify here, are they? Why don't you simple ask

about exception in your chart ? And join/let the discussion going

instead "obstructing it"

has not been from me, I would never think of infringing on a member's

privilege. If you would care to see the id it emanated from you could

see that it is not mine.

Anyway, I am sorry if I have been the cause of hurt however

inadvertant. I am against maligning planets for our actions/supposed

ones, but Mercury combust....

Best wishes

Nalini

Dear Nalini,

I now realize someone else wrote the email I replied to. It's just that it said "regards, Nalini" at the end, but I can now see from the email address itself that it was not you. Please accept my sincere apologies too if I caused you any hurt.

I agree with you, Mercury combust could be behind it and Mars between the Sun and Mercury in Libra - the sign for relationships - does not help either.

Wish you a good start of week.

Best wishes, Rui.

{Om Namo Narayanaya}

Dear Rui ji,

Namaskar.

I am extremely sorry to inform you that the message you are

referring to below

Dear Rui,

>

>

it is badly afflicted, in bad avaasta..etc. . But these are not

issues we try to clarify here, are they? Why don't you simple ask

about exception in your chart ? And join/let the discussion going

instead "obstructing it"

has not been from me, I would never think of infringing on a member's

privilege. If you would care to see the id it emanated from you could

see that it is not mine.

Anyway, I am sorry if I have been the cause of hurt however

inadvertant. I am against maligning planets for our actions/supposed

ones, but Mercury combust....

Best wishes

Nalini

was exactly the opposite?
