Dear Alan,

Namaskar

This is re the data posted by your kind self of his year of birth to be

1947, is this from any reliable source

a) He looks much older than 50, which would be if he is born 1947

b) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Rumsfield

<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Rumsfield> gives its as 1932 born

If anyone knows of any other data running kindly give feedback.

On KNR site the data apparently might be 1932 if I am not wrong but then

he is using Sagi lagna, might be an error from his software I think

since Shri Jyoti, Kala & Goravani all are giving for 1932 birth as Sc 17

dear friends:

donald rumsfeld was born july 9, 1932, chicago, il.

i do not yet have his birth time.

here is a recent article on his career:

Donald Rumsfeld

Government Official

Donald Rumsfeld became Secretary of Defense under George W. Bush in January of 2001, and after the attacks of 11 September 2001 he became a familiar face on television as a spokesman for U.S. military forces. Rumsfeld was already something of a Washington insider; his Republican connections extended back to 1958, when he became an assistant to Congressman Dave Dennison of Ohio. He served as a congressman from Illinois (1962-69) before going to work as an economic adviser for President Richard Nixon (1969-73). He then worked in the Gerald Ford administration as White House Chief of Staff and then as the youngest-ever Secretary of Defense (1975-77). During the 1980s Rumsfeld served in various capacities as an advisor to the Ronald Reagan administration, but spent most of his time in private industry. He served on corporate boards in such the pharmaceutical, banking and communications industries and spent eight years as the CEO of pharmaceutical giant G. D. Searle & Co. He returned to the Pentagon in 2001, becoming the 21st Secretary of Defense. After the attacks on the U.S. in 2001, Rumsfeld directed forces in an attack on Afghanistan and was a vigorous proponent of invading Iraq to topple Saddam Hussein (2003). When success in Iraq was slow in coming, critics -- both civilian and military -- criticized Rumsfeld. The day after midterm elections in 2006 gave Democrats control of the House of Representatives, Bush announced Rumsfeld's resignation, apparently in response to the increasing unpopularity of the war in Iraq. Robert Gates, a Bush family friend who was head of the CIA from 1991-93, was nominated to replace Rumsfeld.

Extra credit: Mr. Rumsfeld married the former Joyce Pierson in 1954. The couple have three children: Valerie (b. 1956), Marcy (b. 1960), and Nicholas (b. 1967)... Rumsfeld's nickname is "Rummy," presumably an abbreviated form of his surname.

Previous Secretaries of Defense include Dick Cheney and George C. Marshall.
