Guest guest
Dear RR, Ashutosh, I am not using OE, IM or any other program but inbox of mail only and here also ATTACHMENTS are stripped off the stripping is done by the group itself from comming up MY INTENTION here was for the not so Net savy people and as said I can manage it as I have listed, PLEASE RECALL some have said this and recently NALINI-ji having also said these happen and don't worry. ALSO I HAVE shared virus, worm alerts even before MODERATION CAME AROUND SO HAS ASHUTOSH too THAT was the reason I felt we can do someting as we are still shaping some good healthy systems and this will be just another step. on personal level I can deal with it its group interest, where tempers can be damaged if inadvertant worms, viruss come from known names. YOU CAN ALSO SEE ANOTEHR TREND ASHUTOSH AND ME HAVE SHARED prior to moderation, the mulitiple groups posting or repetative postings I have protested more often as we need people to understand that they have to wait the time given by any astrologer, if it has not worked sure they an ask saying they have asked and got an answer earlier and it has not worked. Not throw some stones at a tree and expect to reap as many fruits as possible as it is free. no member must take such service for a ride I have named several ones, Anil Kumar reddy, Kiran frm UK, Manju, Vijeswari, swathi mehata [then now is not active], in Mar-jul] now u have praveen and a few more. so this common thinking is also a main reason to hope good order can be done this way. if our mail program can delete our entity if we dont log in for sometime we why cant we follow the same trend. MSN, REDIFF give 30 days del ourmails and 60 days ID is gone. is 90, mail box clear, 120 ID gone, we must have ROTRARY CLUB model than a Lions club model, all here must count to be here as active members. regards/prashant Rohiniranjan <jyotish_vani (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote: I have a feeling that Kumar ji is using an email program to receive the postings. When that mode is utilized, the attachments go through. If web-mode is utilized, attachments get stripped off. It is safer to use web-mode. Also in webmode one can pick and choose messages. Using email program like outlook, everything gets dumped into the in box and this can lead to frustration because one cannot avoid ploughing through the messages! Another advantage of webmode access! The spam checker works well enough, to the extent that the mails which Prashant sent to the group mentioning the virus activities, and citing some examples, landed up in spam folder rather than in group's messages. > > It was because the spam checker identified the given examples themselves as potential spam. > > So, there is no need to block any ids on the group. The viruses are not working from the server. They are lurking somewhere in the PCs and they are sending messages to some individuals only. The best way is to use a better antivirus and to increase the levels of spam filtering on your emails. > > Regards, > > Moderator, JR group > > > > - > Rohiniranjan > > Friday, 10 November, 2006 05:35 > Re: <rhetorical question!> > > > Do you realize how much work you are making for the moderator and the > owner, Ashutosh and Tanveer? > > They are both volunteering personal and valuable time.
