Dear Member:

You can apply the holy ash given in the temples if they are from the

Lord Shiva sannidhi (though we say Tirunallaru is a shani kshetra, the

main deity is the Maragada Linga of Lord shiva; similarly in Shri

Kaalahasti for Raahu, the main deity is Lord Shiva's Vaayu Linga).

So, Lord shiva's ashes can be kept safely even for future use even if

they are given in the navagraha temples. But, the holy ash given in

the sannidhis of navagrahas (the holy ash given in the presence of the

respective planets or after the special poojas for the respective

planets) should be applied on the forehead only on that day

immediately after the ritual. Then it is best immersed in the Holy

tank of the temple or under a peepal tree.

Blessed be.

Pandit R.DAKSHINAMOORTHI.
