Houses to be observed for Children/siblings

Here I am with another basic query!

I have been observing charts with a view to asses the various rules

in vogue regarding predicting the character/gender of the child.

Obviously the 5th house comes first, but it is said that when the

sign ascendant is an even rasi the 5th house must be counted from

the opposite direction (the 9th becomes 5th and so on). The 7th

represents the 2nd child, the 9th the third and so on. Even rasis

are aid to be female and odd male. What would be the input on this,

based on the experience of the leaned jyotishis of this forum? I

also understand that the 5th from Guru (karak for child) must be

given equal importance.

Also, does the 3rd house represent ALL sibling or just brothers

(younger)? For example, if there are four siblings, one older two

younger which houses do we observe?

These are the birth details of the daughter of a friend who is

worried about the delay in her marriage(she will be 27 soon). Due to

my inexperience I haven't been able to give much of an insight –

suggest remedies apart from the Mars-Rahu-Jupiter conjunction in the

7th which on the surface does not appear to be good for married

life, but these planets are involved in an exchange with the Sun in

11th, indicating a rich, influential spouse. Maybe appeasing Venus

would help? Her details are: 21-12-1978 London 11.25am.

I would greatly appreciate input on the above points

Thanks in advance.

Ashutoshji, Prashantji, Rohini devi etc can help.
