Guest guest
Namaste As I think about the concept of renouncing, the thought comes that "I" cannot renounce or attain anything. The small self, my ego, is incapable of it. Only The Guru can bring the LIGHT and remove the darkness. As in the Chandi, only Maa can destroy the ego and all its thoughts and desires. Maa asks us to ponder: Who acts anyway? Who performs the sadhana? Who has the desire for God? Who moves and works in the world? This "I", where can we find it inside? Who is the "actor"? Who wrote the script? Who directs the show? Maa states: DIVINE MOTHER As I ponder these thoughts, I recall the wonder-ful discourse from the Guru Gita which Swami gave Tuesday night. 2 statements really struck me in my heart and fit into our discussion of attaining some state of being. 1. verse 108: attain to sannyas - the establishment of truth within I have understood that one is initiated into, and takes a vow of sannyas. In this verse, and from Swami's discourse, I understood for the first time that one BECOMES sannyas, as the result of sadhana, purification, and the Grace of the Guru. One becomes established in TRUTH. One is not initiated, or takes a vow of TRUTH. How can one "make lip service" to BEING TRUTH? Swami said one first becomes sannyas, then, later if one wished, or the Guru desired, one would be initiated into sannyas. But it was not necessary to be initiated, or wear orange clothes, etc. So again, we see the necessity of discourse expounded by a Guru. HE WHO DISPELLS DARKNESS, AND BRINGS THE LIGHT OF WISDOW AND LOVE. So many wrong ideas handed down thru the ages. So much confusion. Yet, in a flash, the light comes and removes the darkness and confusion. HOW BLESSED WE ARE TO HAVE MAA AND SWAMI. The 2nd discourse which thrilled me to my being, was the result of my question: "how do we become one with the Guru, have the Guru living in our Hearts eternally?" Well, Dear Brothers and sisters, this is the central goal of my life. To have Maa and Swami living inside, ETERNALLY PRESENT, and THEY RUN THE SHOW. They are the actors. Now every day I pray for this to occur. Tonight Swami gave such simple advice. While I cannot capture in words the love and bliss which filled me as He spoke, I can paraphrase. He said: just invite the Guru into your heart. As the guru enters and fills you, life begins to change. You want to be around the Guru more, and help the Guru in every way. You begin to act more efficiently so that you can complete your worldly duties, giving you more time to help the Guru. Your thoughts dwell on the Guru's desires, and you begin to act less selfish and more universal. As He said: just take one step towards God, and God will take 10 steps towards you. It was just perfect. Watch and listen to the video on-line from Nov. 21st. There is nothing like the Guru, nothing at all. We live and grow in their LIGHT, like a sunflower grows towards the sun. By their Grace, we live and breath.
