Guest guest
srImathE rAmAnujAya namaha srImadh varavara munayE namaha Dear SriVaishnavas, After sending this mail, adiyEn spoke to SrivaishnavaSri Krishnmachariar swamy about this and what he said was totally disheartening. He said that legally nothing can be done as all their papers are intact. Only morally with public support we can even try to do something. But the pity is none of the Srirangam Srivaishnavas are ready to oppose this only a very few insignificant number are ready to support this. Why? This is the same perumAL our great Sri Pillai Lokacharyar and Sri Desikar gave their lives to save. And can't we arrange even for a demonstration against it? While the silver-lining is that some Hindu groups are planning some demonstration to stop this. But is it not our duty to join them atleast? This is where our unity needs to come out irrespective of Srivaishnava or Smartha or whichever sect of Hinduism we belong to. What are our madAdhitpathIs and other organisations doing on this?. Why can't we object to this on the same grounds of being an immoral act, like this government decided for the Da Vinci Code movie screening. Well, it is a known fact that this unscrupulous government is inclined only for minority appeasement and Brahmin Bashing, but Sri Ranganathar is not only for the Brahmins. He is for the whole community. Why are we silent on this?. Why cant we move people to stage a demonstration? If need be, why can't we get a "Thirumala" status for Srirangam in Tamizh Nadu. (I agree that it may take some time) That all those areas under the Srirangam municipality is supposed to be the property of Arangan. This, I now believe, is the most important kainkaryam than any other thing. Please think. Staying away from India, adiyEn can't much about it. "adiyArgaL vAzha, aranga nagar vAzha......" (I now doubt if it is living properly. Guest guest
*Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha* ** *It is really very disheartening to read this. Sure as Srivaishnavites it is not enough if we talk hours together about Swamy Pillai lokacharya and all the others who sacrificied everything for the sake of ranganatha. Srirangam, is our head quarters and moreover even today when we step inside that divine land we cherish remembering that "Oh! this is the divine place where all our acharyas placed their divine feet and uplifted mankind." How can we allow the sanctity of the place to be lost by putting a statue of such a person who ruined the life of people by converting them to nastikas? Something surely has to be done to oppose this cruel act. Srivaishnavas are satvikas but we cannot forget thondaradipodi azhvar's paasuram, "talai aruppundum sAkEnnin pAl poruppariyanagal pEsil pOvadhE nOyadhAgi kurippenekkoodumAgail koodumEl talaiyai AngE aruppadE karumam kandAi arangamAnagarulAnE" * ** *Can people in India please contact our acharyas/acharya purushas and find what we all can do about this?* ** *Adiyen ramanuja dAsee* *Sumithra Varadarajan* ** ** * * On 11/22/06, Thirumalai Vinjamoor Venkatesh <vinjamoor_venkatesh > wrote: > > srImathE rAmAnujAya namaha > srImadh varavara munayE namaha > > Dear SriVaishnavas, > > After sending this mail, adiyEn spoke to SrivaishnavaSri Krishnmachariar > swamy about this and what he said was totally disheartening. > He said that legally nothing can be done as all their papers are intact. > Only morally with public support we can even try to do something.
