Re: Indian Ancient Traditionally Spiritual And Practically Healthy Culture

19th November – just yesterday was another remarkable day in our lives – in the lives of the members of the team associated with me. In the morning hours of 19th, the team along with all children left for Toopran Village where Aanandaashramam land is located. A little earlier the Volunteer force consisting of Shri Parimi Sastry and Shri Narayana Rao visited the area and made arrangements for clean water in the Farm Lands Swimming Pool and other arrangements. The site is located on the Nagpur High Way around 40 kilometers from Hyderabad.

Usiri in Telugu; Aamalaki/Dhathri in Sanskrit; Botanically Phyllanthus Emobhica – is a wonderful medicinal gift of nature to human beings. Shri Charaka Maharishi – the great father of Ayurveda branch of Medicial Sciences found this tree as a Gift of Lords to the Earth. This is used widely in medicines and it is a cure and prevention for Diabetes like many. According to Indian Ancient Tradition, this fruit is preserved in salts and used for year long in the houses. The fact remains – the ancestors trusted this and thus remained peaceful and free from health related problems. It is one among the TRI-PHALA.

Interesting it is – the ancient sages of India mixed up the spiritual sciences with practicality and worship of fellow human beings particularly the aged; the ladies; the children; and worship of animals for peaceful co-existence besides the trees and others. In this context, the entry time of winter is found suitable for plantation of this particular tree and accordingly they cultivated a spiritually practical habit of a get together of family members/friends in a ideally situated place like a garden where each one can join and exchange their views and freely participate to enjoy a day with family friends and children. This culture is being followed since long. Making Children to involve in such activities is believed to retain the values and make the generations to know what it is and what it would be, if followed.

Respecting the culture, we reached our Ashram and we worshipped the tree which we have planted three years ago while children too actively reacted with all enthusiasm.

It is a family and friends get together – beyond - much beyond the usual life style of all of us. My interest was to make this as a memorable event respecting the traditional sciences and refreshing for another year long period. The swimming pool was taken as the main tool for the said purpose. Every one irrespective of age jumped into the pool and played forgetting their position- like a dignified parent; like dignified Master-Guru; like a dignified employer and so on. Each one threw the water ball realizing the need to win the game of life.

Perhaps – in the normal routine day, it is quite difficult for most of us to show the glittering teeth with a wide open mouth while smiling quite loudly. We feel that this is a bad habit in the normal society and therefore retain all the STRESS within us. In the Pool of 19th, we were ALL CHILDREN AND EVERY ONE LAUGHED LOUDLY; THROWED WATER AGAINST EACH OTHER; PLAYED GAMES FORGETTING THE TIME. I consider this as a STRESS RELIEVING PROGRAM too. Soon all of us joined for lunch and amidst jovial atmosphere we could eat a little more than the normal intake.

Thus we returned home MOST RELUCTANTLY waiting for another year to pass AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE so that all of us can BECOME YOUNGER/YOUNGEST BY ANOTHER YEAR.

Affly Yours HARA HARA MAHADEVA DR P V SESHA SAI ASWAMEDHAYAAJI
