Guest guest
"The Jyotish gems act SAME as their Grahas (planets) and so the gems should be used for a native's ANUKUL GRAHAS (benefic planets) to harness the benefic influence. The Jyotish gems do not act OPPOSITE of their Grahas and so gems should not be used for a native's PRATIKUL GRAHAS (malefic planets). Thus the malpractice of Pratikul Vad by some confused and irrational astrologers to the detriment even ruination of their misguided clients can be put to an end."---Pt. Pemmaraju V.R. Guest guest
The concept made sense to me in the 90s as it does now! An updated version appears at: http://www.boloji.com/astro/00314.htm for those interested. Guest guest
vedic astrology, "Rohiniranjan" <rohini_ranjan wrote: >Dear members The present subject of wearing particular gem comes under "prayoga" or mantra/tantra where, it is basically revloves around two concepts viz., "daana or donation" and "dhaarana or wearing/act of holding". Daana is meant for donating or to get "rid-off" whereas Dharana is to get "hold-on". Therefore, whenever adverse or inauspicious effects are estimated (through some thought/school) by a proper person well versed in many schools, daana is suggested to get rid off the significations pertaining to a particular source, while auspicious results are estimated dhaarana is suggested. This will be very clear if one is thorough with Brihatjataka and other classical texts that follow this school of thought. In this context I would like to give the following important information which helps accordingly. The following texts strictly follow the foot steps of Varahamihira which is quite efficient and scientific when compared to Parasara. 1)Kalidasa's Uttara-Kalaamritam - Kalidas is a courtmate of King Vikramarka - as per some texts 2)Hora-Sara by Varahamihira's son Prthuyasa 3)Uttpalabhatta's Rudra vakhya 4)King Kalyana Verma's Saravali 5)Sripati, Sridharacharya, Keshavaacharya - Mathematicians who later formulated exactly this school of thought 6)Sambhu-Hora Prakasika 7)Hora-Makarandam 8)Jataka-Sara Deepa 9)Sarvathachintamani (90% of the above school) However, there are many to cite. However, the problem comes not with Anukul or Pratikul but it is with identifying the yogakaraka as per the school of thought which we follow. For example, many astrologer only know yogakarakas (Functional benefics) as per Parasara. But when we study other schools of thought, we come across many karakas viz., 1)Chara-karaka as per Jaimini 2)Karaka in the context of Karaka, Bhodhaka, Pachaka and Vedaka as per Vaidyanath Dikshitulu in his JatakaParijata 3)Karaka as per Varahamihira (this is the best to my knowledge) So, when we study mantra granthas like "VanijyaKalpa Vriksham" where there is abundant clues regarding not only gems(mani) but mantra, japa, daana, Aushada etc and also proper process is suggested for a particular remedy. To conclude, based on the authoritative texts avaliable to me and practices observed I feel strongly "AnukulVad" is strongly recommended Hope got the point Jairadhe > The concept made sense to me in the 90s as it does now! > An updated version appears at: > > http://www.boloji.com/astro/00314.htm > > for those interested. > > RR > > > vedic astrology, Richard Shaw Brown <rsbj66@> > wrote: > > > > "The Jyotish gems act SAME as their Grahas (planets) and so the gems > > should be used for a native's ANUKUL GRAHAS (benefic planets) to > > harness the benefic influence.
