Guest guest
Daily Reflection November 25 - Worship The pujas allow us to expand our consciousness to that awareness (of divinity) and cultivate that relationship. We begin by seeing God in little things. We practice seeing God in a flower, in a candle, in an alter of worship, in a form of deity that we put our love and devotion into. Then the relationship increases exponentially. from Before Becoming This Copyright 2001 Devi Mandir Publications First Edition www.shreemaa.org ______________________ Check out the new AOL. It was an engaging discourse on Guru disciple relationship. There were also locals who joined are satsang,so swamiji very elegantly navigated in and out of english and hindi in this discourse. He explained how Rishis used to sit under trees like this and share the wisdom of Veda and Vedanta, the techniques of meditation, asan & pranayama. These talks became the body of knowledge known as the Upanishads(Upa-Near/Shad-Sit).To sit near the one expounding the wisdom of the Vedas. They'd explain the meanings of the Mantras and the Sanatan Dharma(the eternal ideal of perfection. The Upanishads were a way of updating the wisdom for every generation according to what was and is important for the, time place and circumstance. Everyone will learn to apply that ideal of perfection in their own lives in their own way. The Rishis used to discourse about Niraka Brahma and Nirguna Brahma(God without form or qualities) The village people was inspired by all the great knowlege but when the Rishi left the village they felt they needed a way to maintain that bhava. The village people would say: "As long as you are here we are inspired and remember, but when you go away the worldly life pulls us and we forget. Give us some practice by which we can remember." And the Rishi said:"See this stone here(pointing to a large round rock). That stone is divine.Come here every day and give that stone a glass of water and put a flower on it and remember all the wisdom that we shared today." _________________________Namaste,Surath__________ > Check out the new AOL.
