A suggestion to all serious students and researchers who are fed up!

.... Fed up with the fighting and other distractive activities!

I find that there is quite a bit of distrust and defensiveness that

comes to the fore on jyotish forums and other than the over-eager

reading seekers (not a criticism -- please don't react violently!) I

find that we often not share a lot of charts and birthdata. There is

understandably some ownership/territorial issues there and sometimes

copyright issues get in the way. I have no solution for the latter,

but given the premise that if we post the rashi positions of

illustrative cases, one would then be able to get the:

Rashi

Padas

If possible indicate the charakarakattwa

Ashtavarga

Surely that is a powerful package and enough information to

meaningfully discuss jyotish? Yes the purists will mumble and grumble

that the vargas and nakshatras are not there and the dashas etc too.

One caveat and request though for those who wish to follow this

suggestion of mine:

Please do not include charts where a planet is within the first or

last 2-3 degrees of a sign. The reason is obvious. We do not want

people who use other ayanamshas (not the extreme ayanamshas!) than

what we do (Raman/Lahiri and close ones) to go off on a wild goose

chase by their standards.

And if possible, let us drop this gyani, expert, teacher perspective

that some of us come down at others with. If we were any of those, we

would not have to constantly justify and explain and indicate that we

are so!

Let us just express our souls, our hearts, our learnings and let the

others figure out what our worth is.

TO REITERATE -- DEAR FRIENDS OF JYOTISH REMEDIES FORUM FROM THE

ORIGINAL SEED MESSAGE:

And if possible, let us drop this gyani, expert, teacher perspective

that some of us come down at others with. If we were any of those, we

would not have to constantly justify and explain and indicate that we

are so!

Let us just express our souls, our hearts, our learnings and let the

others figure out what our worth is.

**********************

This will be different for some of us. Let us all be patient and

embrace them while they unfold and relax and wake up to jyotish B-)

Jyotish when embraced seriously leaves only answers and no questions!

If questions arise too often and cantankerously, you are wasting time

on the wrong BOOK, old or new ;-)

Yes Sir, indeed Jyotish gives answers and with each

answer poses another question. Patience, you suggest

and patience it is. For the more deep one delves, the

slower, the answers emerge.

Here is an interesting person and authentic birthdata.

Brilliant mind, excellent orator but the

communications always ending up harming him. His words

often creating hurdles.

Lady Luck smiles on him though, always throwing up new

chances each time he creates a problem for himself.

Exalted Sun, Jupiter and Mars!

Dear Rishi ji,

Stop teasing us :-)

You did not even give all the positions!

Here is a message from another forum (I have the full global

copyrights on this message and not just some token 12% ;-)

**************************

one suggestion

would be to use concatenated data. This conserves space though is

less convenient.

For example the birthdata can be:

DDMMMYYYY POB HHMM

20NOV1949 Ujjain 2116 (a birth at 9:16 PM at Ujjain on Nov 20, 1949.

The horoscope can then be represented by using the following

convention:

Aries = 01, taurus = 02 .... Pisces = 12

order of presentation in the string will be

lagnarashi, sun, moon, mars, merc, jup, ven, sat, rahu

The chart for the example data will be:

030808050810090512 (for the intrepid ones!)

or

03 08 08 05 08 10 09 05 12 (for the trepid ones!)

or you can separate them by commas and then it can be imported into

a .csv spreadsheet file. Using tabs would waste space.

Retrograde planets can be depicted by underlining the rashi they are

in, or encircling them in a square bracket.
