Guest guest
Sat Nam All, In her introductory message Patricia Kelly said something very interesting. Of her early KY experience she wrote, "my nervous system was totally transformed and I was calm and fearless. Nothing upset me but conversely, nothing excited me extremely either." I too experienced this leveling of emotions and because of that I stopped doing KY. For my work (I'm an artist) I need to be able to be excited, but not to the point of distraction. I'm curious to know other people's thoughts on this. Is there a balanced point that doesn't eradicate necessary creative tension? Seven months passed before I picked it up again. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Concering the different effects of KY on different people -- >Is there a balanced point that doesn't eradicate necessary creative tension? Different kriyas, meditations, and breathing practices have different effects. We each have to experiment which one create the effects that we need. I would suggest pumping the navel meditations with Har, Hari Hari would balance both the nervous system and activate the lower chakras. (See Brainwave meditation in the free on line lessons. But you have to pump the navel or your will just float up.) Many other meditations also pump the navel center. Breath of fire will be more dynamic than long deep breathing. We have to stay present to the feelings in our lower body to stay grounded and thus in touch with our creative dynamism. If we pull a lot of root lock and concentrate only on raising the energy we can loose connection with our creative impulse. I have known some people doing TM who felt very peaceful but lost interest in participating in life. This is lack of grounding and too much mental meditation and not enough physical exercise. It is our job to find our own balance. Fortunately there is so much to choose from. And we have to be conscious of HOW we do the exercises and stay present in our body to the effects. Enjoy the experimentation. Blessings, Gururattana
