Guest guest
I notice that most pujas containers and utensils are made of copper, brass, silver or gold-plated metal, though sometimes of other metals like stainless steel. I did a little research on the significance of the different metals. Gold is considered by many as the best for a vessel and it can be gold-plated.Gold attracts the energy of the sun and is considered beneficial to health and vitality. The next best metal would be silver, then copper, then brass. If these are not available then glass, plastic or paper can be substituted. Some say that puja items made of iron or stainless steel should not be used. They are said to attract Saturn energy which could attract difficulties for some people. Most importantly is that the items being offered should not be used for other purposes. They should also be cleaned after every puja. Shree Maa says that if you make your puja articles shine you will shine. All in all one should look at the big picture and try to be efficient with one's time in organising the puja. More importantly the worshipper should concentrate on the mantras, their meanings and your devotion. Paraphrasing Swamiji:"Do not spend your time walking around the shopping bazzars looking for items when time could be better spent in your worship."
