Can japa be performed all the time or only while sitting in a posture. Please throw some light on this. Swamiji's response: There are many kinds of japa. Japa with Pranayam should be performed while sitting in an asana. Other kinds of japa have no need for asana, and can be performed while performing other activities. Ultimately we come to ajapa japa, which is recitation and remembrance of mantras all the time, while sitting in an asana or performing other activities, the mantra continues in the background.
