They don't even teach it in Indian > schools. Just see how tolerant they are. Oh yeah, as devotees we mostly heard only about Aurangzeb's crimes in Vrindavan and Mathura. But this is a big (although very touchy) issue in current Indian political scene given the Congress goverment is more anti-hindu than Western ones. (No wonder it keeps quiet re the Kazakh devotee crisis even though asked to react by opposition in both houses of Parliament.) When BJP came to power several years ago it changed school curricula to be more pro-hindu but the new Congress gov. changed it immediately back. Vrindavan Parker in his group (vediculture) publishes a lot about this. From one of his lasts posts about Nepal situation: "Kidnap, murder, terrorize, loot, pillage in the name of leftist or Islamic causes and you will be protected, given alibis, excuses and financially rewarded. Write, speak, read, promote and practice Hindu cultures and causes and you will be targetted as communal*, fascist, chauvinistic and denied a voice in the arena of politics and education. So in 'Secularese', Maoist grenades blowing up helpless citizens is a good thing and Hindus throwing flowers and shouting 'Jaya Sri Rama!' are communal fascists. There is not much we can do except stand up for the Truth and if shouting 'Jaya Sri Rama!' causes them displeasure, let us shout 'Jaya Sri Rama!' as we refuse to be cheated out of our destiny as citizens of Ram-Rajya." )* 'religious' in a pejorative sense; a typical Indian media term Briefly stated, in India pro-Western 'liberalists' (headed by Congress gov.) joined forces with Communists, Islamists and Christians to fight Hindus. It may not be our focus of interest but we should be at least aware of it since we are not excluded and immune from politics (see the recent bomb attack against ISKCON Manipur). ys Jan
