Imho the above description is ontological, about successive appearance

of things and beings from subtle to grosser ones, whereas the

description of universes coming out and into Mahavisnu refers to the

overall process.

 

These descriptions aren't meant to 'fit into each other' in a way you

presuppose - they are views of creation from different perspectives.
