I recently went there for a week and did attend a class but not Ashtanga. Most of what I found was hot yoga...Power Vinyasa.. .However, I did attend a workshop in September in Crete (Island in Greece) with Mark Whitwell from California.....It was awesome....You should check Mark out....a wonderful and inspirational teacher...I believe his website is HeartofYoga.com Regards...Marilyn.... Guest guest Posted December 1, 2006 Report Share Posted December 1, 2006 Hi Bob My early exposure to Ashtanga was in Florida, in Miami and in Orlando. There are several authorized teachers in Miami, which you can find through ashtanga.com. Why don't you visit their studios, particularly on a Sunday, practice with them and ask them who do they know in Ft. Lauderdale? I can think of several people who teach in Miami. David Kiel, Kino MacGregor, Greg Nardi are all authorized by AYRI. There are also about 3 or 4 studios spread throughout Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Miami Beach and Dadeland, some with mysore practice.
