Srimathe Ramanujaya Namah,

I am quite intriqued by your email. Times have changed a lot. I may be

isolated in California culturally from any religious and spiritual people. I

don't remember many people who are looking for desika's tatparya chandrika,

which by the way is a superb document. To my knowledge, tatparya chandrika

gives justification of the views of Sri Ramanujacharya, and infact is a

historic example of how a powerful subcommentary should be ie. a teeka type

work. There are very less number of teeka works in the world that match this

work of desika. It also has comparative assessment of different views of

Gita from different acharyas and presents Ramanuja view in a comparative

light.

To my knowledge there is no direct English version of this work. I remember

that puttur swamy translates most of tatparya chandrika in tamil in his

work.

However, three volumes of kannada work of Sri Anantha rangachar on Gita

summarizes the tatparya chandrika views.

There may be some tamil works which explain this tatparrya chandrika.

Regards,

Krishna

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namah. Srimathe Nigamantha Desikaya namah.

Adiyen has a copy of The Gitabhashya of Sri Ramnuja, translated into English by Sri M.R.Sampatkumaran, published by Anathacharya Indological Research Institute, G.D.Somani Memorial Building, Cuff Parade, Mumbai-400005.

The Scholar in his preface says he had written the book closely following the Tatparya Chandrika.

In Tamil, Sri Setlur Swamigal had translated the Chandrika word-by-word. It is out of print.
