A story from Shree Maa's Life

One day, Maa and some devotees were on pilgrimage at a Temple far from

Calcutta. They had taken holiday from their jobs to accompany Maa.

Suddenly Maa said she must go back to Calcutta immediately. Why

everyone asked? We have planned for months and taken leave from our

jobs. Can't we wait for a few days. Maa said, I must leave right

away., as a devotee is calling me.

She immediately left for the train, and boarded it. After a long

journey, the train arrived in Calcutta. She left the train, and took

a cab. Riding thru windy streets, She told the driver to stop at a

home. She left the cab and ran up the steps to the front door. She

knocked, and a astonished husband answered the door. He looked at Her

in surprise. She slapped him on his cheek, and walked right past him

to see his wife who had been sitting in front of her altar for 2 days

calling Maa's name.

The lady rose up and bowed with great delight. I knew you would come,

she said. I knew you would come.

The lady was a real devotee, but her husband was fighting with her

about Maa. The wife said, If it is true that Maa in the Holy Mother,

I am not getting up from this seat until She comes and gives me a

blessing. The lady has sat for 2 days and did not give up.

When Mother came to her house, she got up from her seat and said: My

Mother is True.

This is Divine Mother Chandi, who destroys the Great Ego and his army

of thoughts and desires. She is the True Mother and She will come

whenever we call Her with pure devotion. Take refuge at Her feet.

Call on Her ceaselessly and She will come. She will come.

I know, I called, I cried, I prayed, and She came to Iowa and woke me

up, and brought me and my family to Napa. She is True, She is True,

She is True.

What thought or desire can fight Her and win the battle? None.
