Guest guest
Namaste Tonight in the Lalita class in the Mandir, a devotee asked what we should take from the Lalita to use in our everyday life. This was a great question because it brings into focus the main tenent of these teachings that Swami is passing onto us: What is the practical use of knowledge? How can we make our life, and all creation, better, daily? Readying to respond: Swami immediately smiled from ear to ear. I felt He was seeing the Goddess face to face, and that She was telling Himn what to say. Then I knew that He was seeing the Goddess. Shree Maa was sitting right next to Him. He said that we should remember that the essense of Lalita is joy, joy-full living, respect and appreciation for the chance to be in this world, and walk on Mother Earth, and to Serve Mother. We should remember THAT joy in all parts of our life. Perform all actions with joy and appreciation, knowing that all acts we perform in life, are serving Mother. Whether our office, or in front of our altar, everything is serving the Mother. In whatever capacity, with all our heart and mind, make service to the Mother the focal point and goal, then we don't feel burdened by "responsibilites", because there are none. Everything we do is a chance to demonstrate our love and devotion to Mother and Her creation. We have to change our minds and view our actions from a different perspective. This was a perfect teaching for me. Reminding me of how I have to behave in this world. I tend to get too serious and feel the BURDEN of responsibility. But seeing all actions as service to Maa, well, that really hit the spot - RIGHT IN MY HEART. I have to consciously serve Maa in every action. And the main Lalita mantra, is a powerful tool for putting one into the proper attitude to perform action. I hope everyone can tune into the class from Thurday December 30 and view it. It should be stored at the Devi Mandir web site by Friday December 1st. It is certainly one of the most powerful classes yet.
