longer version as to why are wherefores which might help you correct entering data to your prog for right lagna now follows:

 

The timezone is something different to the longitude and latitude, though of course the two latter influence the TZ.

 

TZ is the amount of hours difference from GMT of the birth time, and refers to the hourly difference across the different time zones in the world, so for India I think it is five hours which would be placed in this field to show the TZ of India to UK which is where all planetary times for planets is calaculated for in ephemeris used in astro programmes.. So east or west does not apply to this data input, though the hourly difference is affected by those directions, whihc is why you alter yur watch when travelling out of India to callibrate with the time zone of the country you are visiting.

Since the time given is according to GMT then there is no need to play with time zones in the TZ data entry field.

Try this DOB :17/7/2006

TOB: 09:00 which is British Summer Time where we add one hour to help us imagine we get extra daytime (:-)), some progs tell you this automatically and deduct the hour of added BST to get the GMT of 08:00, but if not then just key in GMT 08:00

TZ: 00

LONG: 03:12 some give 13 mins of long

LAT: 55:57 again the minutes of long may vary it all depends which atlas the programmer took the data from, and all atlases very when it comes to minutes of arc or longitude
