That knowledge is the result of extensive research into sleep disturbances, and such 'paralysis' is used by the body to protect it during dreaming process (see somnambulism, and it's dangers). Body naturally comes out of it when the brain waves change at the end of this cycle. Body has it's own biological clock that regulates this process. We believe that this is governed by demigods, and Paramatma... It is unusual to wake up before the paralysing brain chemicals were removed from the neuro-muscular system, but it happens. This is not caused by pretas, but by insufficient activity of a hormon that causes natural narcosis during the night; this knowledge and research results are available through institutions that help people with sleep disturbances, and in university library. However, the entities you mentioned might try to use the weakened aura of a person during such fragile semi-conscious state of sleep, or under the influence of intoxicants. One strengthens the aura by actions in the mode of goodness, yoga, and of course, with devotional lifestyle and absorption in prayers. One's previous lifetime's experience with black magic may be a reason for some devotees to experience these encounters. In Radhadesh this was the case for at least one person I knew well... but not everyone had these problems. Many devotees remain undisturbed even after many years of serving and sleeping there. ys VpD (Text PAMHO:12658389) ----- ------- End of Forwarded Message ------
