Guest guest
Shri Hari: Dear Sir... Indebted to you for summarising and providing to an explanation in simple layman's term how MOKSHA really is achieved. My humble gratitude to everyone for their words of enlightenment. With the LORD's grace I have taken shelter at Acharyas feet...But what is lacking in me is taking shelter in its true form.... Is it normal for vices to remain even after one takes shelter at Acharya's feet....If so why is it so....? What hope do we have if the vices are not leaving or we are not leaving these vices.... What is the measuring stick for prapatti...as to how surrendered we are...where we are lacking? Is there any way to tell where we are situated in the material and spiritual plane....? Why is it that a supposedly surrendered soul like myself keeps switching between the mode of servitude and mode of enjoyer...knowing fully well that without complete surrender there is no happiness.. How can we build the attitude of tat-sukh-sukhitwam and MAINTAIN it tail-dhaara-wat (like the flow of oil, relentless and unbreaking) Humble pranaams from a extremely patit-aatma ys Deepak Narayana Narayana Narayana
Guest guest
Dear Sri Deepak, Let adiyen try to answer few of your questions limited to adiyen's knowledge. All jeevatmas are binded by karma and even if by some sukrutham we are blessed to surrender to the divine feet of an acharya still our vasanas dont leave us so easily. But due to the grace of the acharya and ofcourse the nirheduka krupai of emperuman, we will slowly get rid of these poorva vasanas and become perfect srivaishnavas. One thing that will really correct us is the feeling that we are yet to be corrected. If we think we know everything then there is no chance for us to learn more. The actual measure for prapatti is how much ego and pride we have shed (ahankara and mamakara) and the mahavishvasam (the acute belief -that he is the savior and we are akinchanan and agathi:). Even while doing kainkaryam to the lord it should not be for our pleasure but for the pleasure of the lord. One step higher kainkaryam should not be stopped with perumal and piratti but should be done for bhagavatas and acharya. Our poorvacharyas say, "You become a perfect srivaishnava when you feel sorry for those in distress and when you feel happy wholeheartedly on seeing another Srivaishnava". We may be enjoying all the material pleasures but if our ultimate goal is kainkaryam and whatever we do is done without the mix of ahankara and mamakara then we are in the right track. We have been in samsara for anAdhi kalam and we have been used to enjoy the pleasures and worries of samsara so much that that vAsana pulls us towards samsara inspite of our knowledge of ultimate surrender to lord. For refining ourselves we have no other go than surrendering to the acharya, doing kainkaryam to him and the bhagavatas. Only the sripada theertham of acharya and bhagavatas can purify us and develop devotion towards the lord almighty. Guest guest
Jai Sriman Narayana! I am in no way an expert or a person to talk on such topics but I thought I would share my thoughts on your questions. As long as you are measuring and as long as you are expecting something to happen or want to take a "picture" of how you are it means you are far off because the whole point of "surrendering" is to surrender to the knowledge of the truth and the grace of Sriman Narayana without a thought of how far along you are or what you appear to be to others or to yourself. All of these things have no meaning when you are absorbed into the Lord. You should not be thinking of yourself but thinking of HIM only. Jai Sriman Narayana!
