Guest guest
Dear New York Tomes editor/Staff: I have attached a press release, and a colorful flyer describing in more detail a 24 hour vigil and ceremony to promote fearlessness and peace, being held Dec. 30 (10AM) through Dec. 31 (10 AM) in at the Durga Temple in Kingston, (Central) New Jersey. The ceremony consists of Sanskrit mantra (sacred sound) repetion, and Vedic rituals that facilitate meditation. The mantra being repeated is the Mahamritunjay Mantra, designed to remove fear. This era of fear that we live in (Terrorism, Global Warming, to name two) has inspired the community to put this ceremony and celebration together. All are welcomed, regardless of religious affiliation, or race. English transliteration of the four line mantra is available for all who need. Snacks and beverages will be available throughout the 24 hour period. No one is required to stay the whole time, and no one will be prevented from snoozing. One does not need to have any prior knowledge or practice in order to participate, only the willingness to participate. We hope you find some room in your pages for this event. It is of interest to a significant number of Central New Jersey residents, as well as New Yorkers, both South Asians, American born South Asians, and anyone who practices yoga. For more information, please contact the main coordinators of the event: Ms. Rajyalaxmi Shaha 609-936-0263 Mr. Bipin Jadav 201-724-3374 If you wish to get a relatively uneducated, yet enthusiastic western point of view please feel free to call me. Thank you for your time. Noemi de la Puente cell 609-558-0026
