The main focus of this institution is to expose students to the many facets of Bharatanatyam by taking an innovative approach, while keeping the original techniques intact. The school also offers lessons in Carnatic [ South Indian Classicals ] as part of its programme. This year in commemoration of their 3rd anniversary, they proudly present Muruga Saranam. It will be a festival of dance drama and music performed by the students of Laasya Arts as a tribute to Lord Muruga. The purpose of all Art is it to create beauty, to give pleasure and to communicate. As Kahlil Gibran wrote, "The philosopher's soul dwells in his head, the Poet's soul in his heart; the singer's soul lingers about his throat, but the soul of the dancer abides in all her body". They like to share this beauty and pleasure as part of their contribution to the society. If you or any friends here in KL you know would love to be a part of this celebration, do join them on 9th December, 2006 AT Malaysia Tourism Centre [MTC], Tunku Abdul Rahman Auditorium,109 Jalan Ampang, K.L . Time 5.30 pm. Proceeds of this performance will be donated to Taman Megah Handicapped and Disabled Children's Home.
