Guest guest
Posted by Yaduraja on Dec 07, 2006: Dear Ramakanta Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP! you write: > Thank you for the quotes (CC Mad 4.112 and Bg 4.34). You are most welcome. You ask: > Why do you conclude > > 'for the initiation (not the initiation ceremony) the physical presence of > the diksa guru is not required' > > from > > 'the diksa guru does not have to be physically present at the initiation > ceremony'? I do not. I was eliminating ONE aspect of diksa, the formal ceremony, by proving the spiritual master does not absolutely need to be within 10 metres of the sacrificial fire as per YOUR stipulation. (All this was dealt with and answered way, way back in 1996 in TFO BTW- including your ‘intelligent question’). You can see I did not conclude this since I have moved on to another aspect, imparting knowledge, so you could have answered your own question simply by carefully reading my posts. Since we now both agree Srila Prabhupada does not need to be physically present at the diksa ceremony we are currently dealing with his ability to impart knowledge, the very definition of diksa. Let us deal with that conclusively first before discussing other matters such as whether Srila Prabhupada’s disciples can still inquire from him etc, which I am more than happy to do when we get there. So will you please now answer my question: ‘Does the spiritual master have to be physically present on this planet in order to impart ‘transcendental knowledge’- the definition of diksa- to disciples on this planet.’ Best wishes Ys Yadu
