!Om Gurveh Namah!

Dear Visti ji, Namaskar!

I had an opportunity to listen to your lectures on Gem stones, First of all I will like to thank you for doing the informative lecture. It cleared a lot of doubts.

I have a couple of Qns:

1. Prescription of Blue sapphire :

You mention for :

- Aries/Scorpio Ascendant if Mars is in 8H/6H OR

- Taurus/Libra Ascendant if Ve in (6H/8H) recommend Blue sapphire.

a. However Aries is sign of debilitation of Saturn, moreover it is also a Badhakesh. Is Blue sapphire still recommended?

b. Also Taurus/Libra Asc what if Saturn is placed in bad house like 6H or 8H.

e.g. - Taurus asc – Venus and Saturn (exalted in 6H) in Libra, Is Blue sapphire still recommended?

2. Strengthening 9th Lord:

Is it advisable to strengthen 9th Lord if it alongside owns one of the malefic houses - 3,6,8,11,12?

e.g. - Aries Asc Ju lords (9,12) houses

Cancer Asc Ju lords (6,9) houses

Let me know when you get a moment.

Warm regards,

Pranav

Dear Pranav, Namaskar

I'm happy that you are learning from the lectures. Btw. the mantra is

normally pronounced: Om Gurave Namah|

I must ask, who is sushma gupta which your email id had written in it?

*o Pratama prasna*

The wearing of a blue sapphire is to make Capricorn more prominent, and

thus cause the exaltation of Mars. Similarly for Venus in own sign in

sixth/eighth we advise Yellow Sapphire to exalted Venus, and make Pisces

more prominent.

*o Dvitiiya prasna*

When a kendra lord is a malefic its effects can become very auspicious

in a dusthana house and form a vipareet raja yoga. This is not so for

benefics. For example: Saturn in twelfth for Vrishabha lagna is an

excellent Vipareet Raja Yoga, but Venus in twelfth for Capricorn lagna

definitely isn't.... unless the person travels abroad.

This follows the general principle that malefics are auspicious in

dusthanas, whilst benefics are auspicious in trikonas. That way Mars in

twelfth for Leo lagna can prove to be a powerful raja yoga, but jealousy

from others may remain due to its aspect on the sixth house from lagna.

*o Tritiiya prasna

*There could be various reasons to advise a gemstone for the ninth

house. If rahu is joined the ninth house or lord, or aspecting, then no

doubt a yellow sapphire should be worn... no matter the position of

Jupiter. In fact, if such a gemstone is not advised the luck of the

person simply won't start. Instead the person will be running in circles.

Now, if in a case the lord of the ninth house lords an inauspicious

house, and is ALSO placed in it, we have a problem. Example: for Aries

lagna, Jupiter in twelfth can cause separation from father, as it is

also ninth lord. In such cases only advise the gemstone if absolutely

necessary to avoid a greater evil (rahu, saturn, etc).

Yours sincerely,

Namaste Sri Visti

Can you cite some experiences where you have tried to raise the strength of

Rasi through gemstones and not of the malefic grahas that the gemstone

represent? Or point out a relevant article in Jyotish digest pointing out

the same.

If you remember, in a last thread when Yellow Sapphire was suggested for

Rahu in Ninth, I had specified that Yellow Sapphire just does not suit me

and causes many problems. I also like Sri Sanjay Rathji to comment upon the

same and share his thoughts too.

Thanks and Regards

Bharat (Anuj)

हरे राम कृषà¥à¤£à¥¥

Dear Bharat, Namaskar

One of the best examples is myself. I have Scorpio Lagna and Rahu is

placed in the ninth house. Jupiter is joined Mercury in the eighth.

Initially i wore substitute stones for Jupiter. I.e. Yellow Citrine and

then a Heliodore... never a topaz though. After wearing my first

gemstone i spent the next 2-3 years traveling around the world and

learning Jyotish.

Prior to this i had made some 'blunders' in my education and was left

somewhat stuck in this matter. I subsequently began formal studies again.

Recently i began wearing a white sapphire (white for Pisces) and whilst

I'm happy with the effects, I'm also uncomfortable with some flaws in

the actual gem. I blame this on my recent inability to pursue some

traveling, but lets see.

Yours sincerely,

!On Gurave Namah!

Dear Visti ji, Namaskar!

Thank you for correcting the pronunciation of the mantra.

Sushma Gupta is my mother. Whenever I start/do anything important/significant in my life, I try to do it in the name of Mother Godess or her name, its my way of seeking their blessings and continued guidance. Here it was learning Jyotish!

I have a couple of follow up questions and have copied your answer from previous email :

o Pratama prasna

The wearing of a blue sapphire is to make Capricorn more prominent, and thus cause the exaltation of Mars. Similarly for Venus in own sign in sixth/eighth we advise Yellow Sapphire to exalted Venus, and make Pisces more prominent.

[Pranav]

Can this dictum have a reverse effect (debilitation)?

e.g. - Jupiter debilitates in Capricorn and Mercury debilitates in Pisces.

And can this dictum be extended for other planets/signs?

e.g. - Strengthen Aries for a weakly placed Sun(or even debilitated Sun).

OR for Aries Asc - Strengthern Capricorn for Mars in 12H/7H;

o Tritiiya prasna

There could be various reasons to advise a gemstone for the ninth house. If rahu is joined the ninth house or lord, or aspecting, then no doubt a yellow sapphire should be worn... no matter the position of Jupiter. In fact, if such a gemstone is not advised the luck of the person simply won't start. Instead the person will be running in circles.

Example: for Aries lagna, Jupiter in twelfth can cause separation from father, as it is also ninth lord. In such cases only advise the gemstone if absolutely necessary to avoid a greater evil (rahu, saturn, etc).

[Pranav]

Can the Gem stone be prescribed, if 9th lord is not placed in the inauspicious house- but is weak/strong, and what will be the effects?

e.g. - What are expected effects - if yellow sapphire is prescribed to a native of Aries Asc Jupiter is in Cancer(4H) or Capricorn (10H)

Thank you for taking time to answer my queries and your continued guidance.

Warm regards,

Pranav

Thank you for taking time to answer my queries and your continued guidance.

Warm regards,

Pranav

Re: [Om Krishna Guru] Vistiji's Lecture on Gem Stones - questions

हरे राम कृष्ण॥

Dear Pranav, Namaskar

I'm happy that you are learning from the lectures. Btw. the mantra is normally pronounced: Om Gurave Namah|

I must ask, who is sushma gupta which your email id had written in it?

o Pratama prasna

The wearing of a blue sapphire is to make Capricorn more prominent, and thus cause the exaltation of Mars. Similarly for Venus in own sign in sixth/eighth we advise Yellow Sapphire to exalted Venus, and make Pisces more prominent.

o Dvitiiya prasna

When a kendra lord is a malefic its effects can become very auspicious in a dusthana house and form a vipareet raja yoga. This is not so for benefics. For example: Saturn in twelfth for Vrishabha lagna is an excellent Vipareet Raja Yoga, but Venus in twelfth for Capricorn lagna definitely isn't.... unless the person travels abroad.

This follows the general principle that malefics are auspicious in dusthanas, whilst benefics are auspicious in trikonas. That way Mars in twelfth for Leo lagna can prove to be a powerful raja yoga, but jealousy from others may remain due to its aspect on the sixth house from lagna.

o Tritiiya prasna

There could be various reasons to advise a gemstone for the ninth house. If rahu is joined the ninth house or lord, or aspecting, then no doubt a yellow sapphire should be worn... no matter the position of Jupiter. In fact, if such a gemstone is not advised the luck of the person simply won't start. Instead the person will be running in circles.

Now, if in a case the lord of the ninth house lords an inauspicious house, and is ALSO placed in it, we have a problem. Example: for Aries lagna, Jupiter in twelfth can cause separation from father, as it is also ninth lord. In such cases only advise the gemstone if absolutely necessary to avoid a greater evil (rahu, saturn, etc).

Yours sincerely,

Namaste Visti,

In your case, Jupiter is a friend of lagna lord and a lord of trikona, so

Yellow Sapphire is most likely to suit you.

In my case, Rahu is in the 9th with Venus for Mithuna Lagna. Jupiter is in

5th house aspected by Mars (10th), Rahu (9th) and Saturn (11th house).

Though I have many gemstones with me, I cannot wear Yellow Sapphire or

Citrine. Major problems start almost immediately.

I usually take white sapphire for Venus and it is likely to strengthen the

Rasis Taurus and Libra, instead of Pisces, apart from the graha itself. Can

you pass on your birth details if you do not mind?

My point is when a graha is a functional malefic and an enemy of Lagna lord,

should we wear its gemstone? My thoughts and experience tells - No. Now,

when I read your mail regarding Blue sapphire for uplifting Saturn for Aries

lagna, I get this doubt. I am passing this message to Sohamsa as well as to

Sri Swee.. and let us see what all have to say on this matter.

I'd really like to hear Sanjayji's comments too. Hope he isn't busy.

Thanks and Regards

Anuj

II Om Gurave Namah II

Hari om , dear Ramesh L.V.S.S.

Kindly share your experience any case studies done?

Sh KSK has presribed rules but no article is seen to date

about the effects of wearing Gems as far my memory goes.

Any reference please?.

For those interested to have a idea following is the method

1. Main theory of prescribing Gems is use gem for planet that will nulify the evil effects.Choose a planet that is auspicious. Its Gem alone is to be used.

Note He mentioned that following Sayan system /Vedic system can use Gem stones related to Sun in sayan sign/Birth rasi.Tables given are identical and in essence Aries is Equivalent to 22 March to April 23 etc.

2 Alternatively Sub lord of XI cusp is examined. We find in whose constellation sublord falls. This planet in case is significator of I ,II or Xi than Gem of colour representing that planet is used.

So if Sun is Benefic use Orange colour and gold.

Moon --- Pearls. pushparagham

Mars Use Coral , ruby.

Mer - emerald.

Jup - Yellow Sapphire.

Ven - Diamond Silver.

If sat is Benefic , Blue sapphire.

A thought proviking analogy is given by KSK, He says Acquisation of Gems is indicated mostly by a benefic,So one acquires a gem when He is under good period.but sometimes unfortunate people get GEM during Sub Period of a planet who is significator of II but also OF VIII and XII .They suffer.

To summarise One should select such a GEM , the lord of which is the significator of I, II or XI and has nothing to do with VIII and XII.

I know here KP is not discussed but my posting is just for information and Lecture in one of the Wksp on Nakshatra precisely discuused the basics and member can get enjoy and test this method of selection..

हरे राम कृषà¥à¤£à¥¥

Dear Anuj and Swee, Namaskar

Sanjayji is likely to be unavailable for the next few weeks, but i'm

sure he will give a word or two once he is available.

I was born 21st November 1981 at 6:08 AM, Nairobi, Kenya.

In the case of PV Narasimha Rao who wore a coral, Mars is the WORST

enemy of his lagnesh Mercury according to the Panchada Sambandha

(tatkalika+naisargika). So the logic of friendship/enmity didn't work

here. Further Mars is lord of third and eighth houses for Virgo lagna.

He was born:

Rao, P.V. Narasimha

June 28, 1921

Time: 12:49:00 pm

Time Zone: 5:16:36 (East of GMT)

Place: 79 E 09' 00", 18 N 26' 00"

Point is that we cannot take the lordship blindly. We must also see

planetary yogas as well.

If the lord of a bhava is in a parivartana or yuti with another planet,

it will give the results of the other planet when its gemstone is worn.

Example: Say for Aries Lagna Jupiter is in the sixth house and Mercury

is in the ninth - Parivartana Yoga exists between them. If a Yellow

Sapphire is worn for Jupiter, this will result in enmity, diseases, etc.

But, if an emerald is worn it will give fortune and auspicious direction.

Now take the case of P.V. Narasimha Rao: Mars, Sun and Mercury are

joined in the tenth house in Gemini. Mercury is the lagnesh forming a

Bhadra Mahapurusha Yoga, whilst Sun and Mars are forming a Vipareeta

Raja Yoga through their conjunction as they are 12th, 3rd and 8th lords

in conjunction.

To protect and enhance the lagna we need to strengthen Mercury. But, due

to the yuti the wearing of the Emerald will enhance the effects of Sun

and Mars. So we need to advise either Sun or Mars. Of these Mars is the

most malefic and will exchange results with Mercury, hence, he was

advised to wear a Coral.

This principle will not work with the 2 latter types of sambandha namely

samdristi and dristi-parivartana, which are temporary in nature.

Yours sincerely,

Vyam Vyasadevaya Namah : Hare Rama krsna

Pranam to all Gurus and members

Was going through the audio and the discussion on gemstones here...in

reference to Prime minister Narshima Rao ji , i found that i have a similar

virgo lagna, with mercury and mars conjunct in 7th house.

Place Jaipur city, India

Long 75 E 49 Lat 26 N 55

date 15th April 1979

time 18:05

Since mercury may give the results of mars , do u suggest i should wear an

coral instead of emerald which i am wearing at moment to strengthen my lagna

lord... Also mars is my moon sign and even my Hora lagna is conjunct mars

and mercury forming kevala maha yogada. do u really suggest coral ?

Since both planets are MKS and mercury debilated, i need to bring my LL

mercury out of its debilation , which i am doing though mantras.

Also after listening to audios, i was wondering i am soon to enter,

merc-saturn vimshottri dasha , also saturn 5th and 6th lord these days

transits my birth natal in 12th house, and aspects 2, 6. 9th house. Do u

suggest i should go for wearing an blue sapphire in the left hand for the

same.

Lookign forwards for your kindly suggestions.

Untitled DocumentDear Guruji,

Pranaam..

I have been closely following discussions based on Gurujee Vistijee mp3 on gems....particularly....for Rahu in the 9th house....

I have an example chart wherein the native, a lady, has Rahu in the 9th house. The details of Birth are as follows....

10 June 1969 ( tenth june sixty nine)

Time of birth: 0835 hrs (Morning)

Place of birth: 31 N 19 00

75 E 34 00

INDIA

1. Now Jupiter is in the third house in yuti with ketu...both are in Uttar plalguni 2nd pada....

2. Since Rahu is in the third house ....we have to strength Jupiter...( Pt. Sanjay Rath also says this in one of his lectures at SJC New Delhi)

3. But since Jupiter and Ketu are in Yuti..do we strengthen Ketu by wearing Cat's eye as Ketu will give the results of Jupiter...or do we wear the gem for Jupiter?

4. If Cats eye is to be worn then do we wear it in the ring finger of right hand as Ketu is in the Kaama trikona ?

Pranaam....

Yours sincerely,

Ranjit

[Om Krishna Guru] ratna and sambandha (Re: Re: Vistiji's Lecture on Gem Stones - questions)

हरे राम कृषà¥à¤£à¥¥

Dear Anuj and Swee, Namaskar

Sanjayji is likely to be unavailable for the next few weeks, but i'm sure he will give a word or two once he is available.

I was born 21st November 1981 at 6:08 AM, Nairobi, Kenya.

In the case of PV Narasimha Rao who wore a coral, Mars is the WORST enemy of his lagnesh Mercury according to the Panchada Sambandha (tatkalika+naisargika). So the logic of friendship/enmity didn't work here. Further Mars is lord of third and eighth houses for Virgo lagna.

He was born:

Rao, P.V. Narasimha

June 28, 1921

Time: 12:49:00 pm

Time Zone: 5:16:36 (East of GMT)

Place: 79 E 09' 00", 18 N 26' 00"

Point is that we cannot take the lordship blindly. We must also see planetary yogas as well.

If the lord of a bhava is in a parivartana or yuti with another planet, it will give the results of the other planet when its gemstone is worn.

Example: Say for Aries Lagna Jupiter is in the sixth house and Mercury is in the ninth - Parivartana Yoga exists between them. If a Yellow Sapphire is worn for Jupiter, this will result in enmity, diseases, etc. But, if an emerald is worn it will give fortune and auspicious direction.

Now take the case of P.V. Narasimha Rao: Mars, Sun and Mercury are joined in the tenth house in Gemini. Mercury is the lagnesh forming a Bhadra Mahapurusha Yoga, whilst Sun and Mars are forming a Vipareeta Raja Yoga through their conjunction as they are 12th, 3rd and 8th lords in conjunction.

To protect and enhance the lagna we need to strengthen Mercury. But, due to the yuti the wearing of the Emerald will enhance the effects of Sun and Mars. So we need to advise either Sun or Mars. Of these Mars is the most malefic and will exchange results with Mercury, hence, he was advised to wear a Coral.

This principle will not work with the 2 latter types of sambandha namely samdristi and dristi-parivartana, which are temporary in nature.

Yours sincerely,

I usually take white sapphire for Venus and it is likely to strengthen the Rasis Taurus and Libra, instead of Pisces, apart from the graha itself. Can you pass on your birth details if you do not mind?

My point is when a graha is a functional malefic and an enemy of Lagna lord, should we wear its gemstone?

Hare Rama Krsna

Pranam Vistiji , Namaskar ,

Ur observations to Namrsimao Rao ji chart are really interesting and have

really put me in doubt, as i have been wearing emerald since some time. Acc

to ur observations mars when conjunct with mercury for virgo lagna , would

always result in exchange of roles and thus a person needs to wear coral

instead of mercury .

As u would remember in my chart , mercury the lagnesh lord is very weak in

7th house also MKS, badhaksthan placements conjunct mars. my moon sign is

scorpio , and my HL is in pisces too with Gl in lagna forming kevala

mahayogada if i am right . Do u suggest i should try coral instead of

emerald and pearl stones due to exchange of roles?

Also i have aspect of saturn in 9th house since saturn is transiting leo

these days .. and i am soon to enter mercury-saturn dasha . Do i need to

wear a sapphire in left hand .

Really looking forward for ur reply

Namaste Sri Swati

Please do NOT wear a diamond. Instead wear a numerical yantra of Venus in

silver tabeez with a white thread. Wear this on Friday after worshipping Ma

Lakshmi. Chant Sri Suktam everyday.

Red Coral (Moonga) is a strict no-no from my side. Wear Mars numerical

yantra in a Triangle Bhojpatra in a copper tabeez. Wear in red thread around

the neck on a Tuesday after worshiping Lord Hanumana in the morning time.

Citrine is likely to suit you.

Thanks and Regards

Bharat

Right now i am wearing an emerald and pearl., which are both debilated in my

chart.

my question to Vistiji was acc to the example he had chosen to give of PV

Narshima Rao and the conjunction effects of mars and mercury .. Any light on

how can i strengthen mercury .

ur suggestion to citrine...can u explain why ? jupiter is exalted but

badhakesh and has having rashi dhristi on mars, merc, moon. also its having

हरे राम कृषà¥à¤£à¥¥

Dear Swati, Namaskar

I'm used to S(v)ati for no real reason.

In your chart i would recommend neither Gemstone nor Yantra, as lagnesh

with eighth lord in badhaka sthana causes dristi badhaka. Anyone who

looks at this combination will find trouble in advising a remedy for

you. You must worship Chandi to overcome the malefic effect of this

Mars. Why not start with the Navarna mantra? Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundayai

Yours sincerely,

Namaste Sri Swati

The yantras are for protection and should be worn. I agree with Sri Visti

partially that your chart is very difficult one to prescribing gemstones but

with adequate sadhana by the astrologer and especially when mind is clear -

the remedies can be suggested. Therefore, you should wear the yantras as

prescribed.

In my view, neither Emerald nor Pearl should be worn.

I would use Citrine and not Yellow Sapphire here. Jupiter is in the

nakshatra of duplicate yogi. It is the depositor of the lagna lord. It is

governing the anter dasha and is in the 5th from the mahadasha lord. The

next mahadasha of ketu - Ketu is in nakshatra of Jupiter. Therefore, the

protection from Jupiter far exceeds its badhakesh results. It is also

offering protection from Rahu in the 12th house. Try it for a couple of days

by tying it to your right arm. If you enjoy it, wear it as a ring after

doing prescribed puja and method.

Thanks and Regards

Bharat

hare Rama Krsna

Dear Visti and Bharat ji ,

thanks for the ongoing discussion , as it really helps me to learn astrology

.

Vistiji u mentioned dhristi badha , does this mean people around me in this

life have created jealousy and ill feelings. i would not doubt this as i

cant mention how much i feel the same. please can u highlight this..and

explain me more on this.

i had made an investment on emerald and pearl after so much thinking...and

actually it has not given me any ill effects , but neither positive.. i have

been living in a suspended animation with no movement in life since this

whole jupiter antar dasha. Hoping a relief comes when i start saturn dasha

and start life with fresh approach . now that saturn is also transiting leo

and shall give aspect to 2nd, 6th and 9th. So there wil stil be soem

obstacles, Also saturn is 6th to mercury .i am just trying to be positive.

Am trying to be regular with mantras ...and make efforts..with HOPE.

hoping u give me final advice on any gemstones or yantras ...or i may just

keep away from them.

Swati

Namaskar all members,

I've a question, rather doubt on prescribing gemstone for planets in marana sthan. To cite an instance, for a native with Scorpio lagna with Saturn in Ascendant along with Moon (badhakesh). Refering to the lectures and articles on gemstone (SJC), I'd read that for Moon in debility, it is best recomended to wear Blue Sapphire mainly because Saturn being the natural karaka for 8th house. But in the case mentioned above, Saturn happens to be in the 1st house (maranakarak sthan) and also being in yuti with Moon (badhakesh), thus, will it be advisable to suggest on wearing Blue Sapphire?

Also, it is said that for people with Venus in maranakarak sthan, diamond is a necessary gemstone, but my question here is that is it advisable to wear yellow diamond for Scorpio lagna native (Venus in 6th bhava) because Venus lords 12th house and 7th house?

Thanking in advance,

Ragards,

Kunal
