Guest guest
Posted by Yaduraja on Dec 14, 2006: Dear Ramakanta prabhu, PAMHO, AGTSP, You write: > So your philosophy is that the only difference between a diksa guru and a > siksa guru is that the diksa guru gives both Harinam and Gayatri mantra by > formal fire ceremony and is the focus of daily worship for his disciples. No you have speculated again. Srila Prabhupada taught that we are allowed many siksa gurus, but only one diksa guru, that is another difference isn’t it? He also taught that the diksa guru must be a mahabhagavata, whereas this stipulation is not given for one who simply ‘shows the way’, so that is another difference isn’t it? Also Srila Prabhupada authorised his disciples to rise to the platform of siksa gurus, but he ONLY left himself in place as the initiating guru for ISKCON with no authority for this to be changed by the GBC (the body you agree are meant to manage initiation). > And it is even not always the diksa guru who gives both Harinam and > Gayatri mantra by formal fire ceremony; sometimes it is the siksa guru. So far as ISKCON goes, although the formal ceremony, chanting on beads, Yugna, giving the Gayatri mantra tape etc was to be conducted by representatives such as ritviks and Temple Presidents, they are only acting on BEHALF of the diksa guru- Srila Prabhupada- who is the person actually initiating. Also none of this is ‘my philosophy’, it is what Srila Prabhupada taught and established. What aspect are you saying we got wrong? Also, to remind you of the status of our debate: I do not have to prove that the status quo (point a) remains the status quo, since by definition the status quo is the status quo. You need to prove that Srila Prabhupada authorised the GBC (the body you agree he left to manage initiation) to remove him as the sole initiating guru for ISKCON, thus changing the status quo you agree he established way back in 1966. Until you can do this then you must accept that THAT status quo remains in place; or point c). If you want to know the context of a quote then by all means look it up yourself. Why not start with the Lord Brahma one, our star piece of evidence. Also please tell us who your spiritual master is? Previously you said it was Harikesa and Srila Prabhupada; then you admitted you may have rejected Harikesa, so that just left Srila Prabhupada. But according to your philosophy Srila Prabhupada is not a spiritual master who can correct us if we have misunderstood something. > Do you really think that you know the science of initiation simply after > having read some statements here and there without the guidance of a > spiritual master who can correct you if you misunderstood Ramakanta das So who is the spiritual master telling you when you have misunderstood something? Who are you enquiring from? Who is going to deliver you? Best wishes Ys Yadu
