This has also been touched upon in Sri Raman's Hindu Predictive Astrology and other classics on Prashna jyotish. I would start with BPHS if I were you, and also read chapter 3 and while at it, study it entirely, both volumes! Sharma's is the one I would recommend. Planets are the persons Rasi aspects do have a continues influence through Planets upon Planets. Planets aspects express the desires Houses form the fields of human happenings in life. I had understood the concept from the book on Feng Shui BY Simon Brown ( published by Thorsons- Harper collins associates) In chapter 6 there is excellent explanation. Knowledge shared was assimilated 36 years ago by us. I wondered where compass directions are elaborated in BHPS? Believe me I have met world class well known vaastu shastri during some conferences but they could hardly define and demonstarte at site and tell if a plot is in carinal direction or not.
