Guest guest Posted December 18, 2006 Report Share Posted December 18, 2006 In a letter to Harer Nama, dated November 6th, 1969, regarding book distributors, Srila Prabhupada says: “If they will simply take to reading this transcendental literature we are presenting, the same reading capacity will elevate them to the highest perfection of spiritual life.” In a letter to Kurusrerestha, dated July 23rd, 1973, Srila Prabhupada says: “Regarding book distribution, everyone, including book distributors, must follow the standard regulations. Book distribution is preaching, it should not be thought of as done for money. It is executed as a preaching purpose. With theses guide-lines in mind, try to distribute as many books a possible.” In a letter to Satsvarupa Maharaja, dated January 5th, 1976, Srila Prabhupada says: “Our first business is this book distribution. There is no need of any other business. If this book distribution is managed properly, pushed on with great enthusiasm and determination, and at the some time if our men keep spiritually strong, then the whole world will become Krishna Conscious.” Srila Prabhupada said in a letter to Bhagavan das dated July 7th, 1971: “Householders can sell books and get fifteen percent commission on the net income. The retail discount schedule will be as follows: 1-2 books, 33%; 3-24 books, 40%; and 100 books and over, 50% (whole sale rate).” In a letter to Ramesvara dasa, dated November 14th, 1974, Srila Prabhupada says: “Regarding book distribution, somehow the distribution must be doubled and tripled as for as possible.
