Can you please let me know the reasons for, or, when does it become

essential to perform Sahasra Chandi. Thank you for your time.

 

Swamiji's response:

There are many reasons for undertaking such a sankalpa. For us, the

clearest reason is to live with the blessings of the DIvine Mother. When

we cloister our senses and activities, our thoughts become much more

subtle, and meditation is much more effective. Self realization becomes

a daily experience and moves from the theory presented in the scriptures

to a practical way of life.

 

The causes for performing such a sankalpa are sincerity and commitment,

a lot of planning and organizing, and a real dedication to our spiritual

pursuit.

 

Commencing such a sankalpa becomes essential when our spiritual longing

takes precedence to our material attachments.
