Guest guest
A wonderful way to deeply unwind the subconscious mind before sleep is Yoga Nidra, which translates as Yogic Sleep. It is rejuvenating, deeply cleansing at an emotional level and you will experience very little if any dreams in the actual sleep state. Also the more solid your Sadhana becomes, the less dreaming you will experience. Blessings and Peace, Sleep sweet! Guru Ravi
Guest guest
Sat Nam I have some comments about the kudalini practice I have been doing since October. The other night I had a dream that could perhaps be considered a nightmare directly related to the issue I have been working on. The dream didn't so much disturb me as make me feel that I am on the verge of a significant breakthrough. I think I'm getting down to a much deeper level of anger and fear. It's intimidating but getting through it will be really good and I'm sure my life will change quite a bit. The meditation I have been doing most days is the "releasing childhood trauma" one that was posted on this list back in August or September. I have a few questions about how I've been doing it. The way I do it is start with sat nam breathing for a while until I feel centered. I am not quite able to do easy pose due to limited flexibility in my knees. Sometimes I can get close to easy pose, but my legs fall asleep quickly and hurt a lot after, so I generally just sit on the floor with the soles of my feet touching, my legs in a sort of diamond shape. After some sat nam breathing I do ong na mo guru dev namo at least three times. Then I do the sadhana, which is breathing in through the teeth and out through the nose while holding my arms out to the sides with thumb over fourth and pinky fingers. After that I breathe in and hold my breath while mentally reciting the medicine buddha and heruka mantras. But that's all I do. Is that OK? Should I be doing anything else? Other questions -- am I supposed to be holding my arms out at shoulder height? I can't do that for very long. Most of the time I do it with my upper arms down and just my forearms out to the sides. I do try to hold them up some of the time as well, but I have to keep putting them back down because they get tired. Also I notice that I hold chronic tension in the left side of my abdomen. While doing the breathing I keep thinking sat nam, trying to keep my thoughts on sat nam and releasing the muscle tension. Does anyone have any thoughts about the odd tension only on the left side? Also, I don't do the set every day, I have missed some days. My goal for 2007 is to do it every day. Does it matter if I miss some days? Thank you so much for your thoughts!
