Speaking personally, this alone is not enough. It did not attract me

to Gurumayi or any number of others you could name. It is the Essence

that she showers, and the example of her life.

You may dislike that the lesbians are flocking, though it does not

really explain why tens of millions of others are also flocking,

straight, male, female and in between.

You may understand better if you consider that the pandits, pujaris,

acaryas have been men for millennia at least, that the vast majority

of scriptures are written by men, as well as sadhus, gurus, munis

etc. Many will say, no look, we have Meera, we have Jillalemuda Maa,

and Lal Ded, Karaikkalammayar, but the fact remains that there is a

huge disporportion in male to female leadership, indeed many would

claim that females should be barred from and not perform these roles

(temple priest, etc).

Even where this is not banned outright, there has been a historical

pattern where worthy females do not get the recognition or support.

This is how the Buddhist nunneries died out in India many centuries

ago. People did not feel it was meritorious to support them. There

remain many structural and cultural barriers.

So naturally there is a hunger for seeing the restoration of balance,

so that the realized women and the female sages can take their place

as well. The world will benefit from it.

If all this was not the case, it would not matter to me or to any of

the others.

Well, if you think it's all about the money what can i tell you.

I think that the Mata makes an incalculable offering, at personal

sacrifice, 16-20 hour darshans, every day, every week, every year,

sore shoulders, bruised arms from so many people clutching at her.

For decades. What contributions come in from the wealthy -- and

spirtually hungry --"West" goes to hospitals, orphanages, housing for

the poor, widows...

If you ask me Ammachi would much rather be sitting under the

cocopalms by the sea, immersed in Kaivalya. But instead she does it

like this, out of Karuna.

My apology Max for hurting your feelings. And I that is why I ask. I

like to get the feedback from the group of people concern and not an

assumption from another. I dont think so I say that I dislike the

lesbian flocking Ammachi. I am just stating from my observation.

Just a curious mind. Just this thought WHAT IF? Why not Gurumayi?

becasue GuruMayi lineage begins from a Male too. So she is out?

based on the arugement you just said. I communicate with another

feminist too who think im being brainwash by the Male Guru too. So

as long as there are male influence, its a NO! NO!

How interesting. I remember I had a serious discussion with another

ammachi devotee too. And I talk abt this whole issue of Abuse. When

Charitable Organisation abuses the generosity of the public. It is

my believe that even if you cover it up with white garment and to

make it look so pure and clean, greed is greed. Then immediately

this young man began to list out all the good things that Ammachi

have done. All the hugging and the contributions she have done. Well

you see I am aware of all these. I ask again, is this what the whole

thing is all about? You see I am not against Ammachi. Do you when

was the first time I encounter here. I dont even know who she is nor

have seen her at all. All I know is that, while walking along

Serangoon Road [ popularly known as Little India], I saw this small

temple, people flocking. I told my husband: lets go in and see what

happen. I saw this lady in white sitting and people lining up to see

her. I said "come on let get her blessing". "But who is she" my

husband asked. I responded "dosent matter who she is. She must be a

good person. Otherwise why would all these people flocking wanting

to get her blessing. Its good to get the blessings from an unknown

good soul"

Because she feel this moral obligation that she must do something

about it. Like the various statement ive been saying : If you are so

concern abt the happenings of things around you, then get your butt

out there and do something about it.

Not at all. I just tell you what i think, like you do.

No you are making an assumption here, which is mistaken. It had to do

with her behavior. Her brother was at the time running a

correspondence course, and messing up. Taking money and not giving

what he promised to do. People wrote sincere letters to her asking

her help. When I went to see her, she was reading the letters out

loud to her devotees and making fun of the people. So i walked out.

Later, i found out, she fought with the brother and denounced him

(for other things).

Wrong again. I've learned from many. If I had the opportunity to meet

Baba Amritanadaji, I would look forward to doing so. I have never

been to India (yet!).

Can't agree with you that charitable works must be abuse. You're

entitled to think what you want, of course. I'm not out to

prosyletize. I"m not that kind of girl.
