Every year on KoodArai Vellum Seer

Govindhaa" ThiruppAvai Paasura dinam ,

Sri Ahobila Matam observes the tradition

of presenting Akkaravadisil to Sundara Simham

alias Periya PerumAL in hundreds of Silver vessels

consecrated with Sanka-Chakram and ThirumaNN

during the visEsha dhanur maasa AarAdhanam

by Srimath Azhagiya Singar .

 

This tradition is based on ANDAL's own promise of

offering hundred vessels of AkkArvadisil to

ThirumAlirum ChOlai Sundarabaahu PerumAL ,

if He were to appear before Her to accept them .

 

In previous years , many of you have sponsored

one or more of the Silver Vessels of AkkAravadisil

presented to MalOlan ; at the end of the celebration ,

yourself or some one representing you is blessed

to recieve that silver vessel with AkkAravadisil

as a gift to take home and use that vessel for Bhagavath

AarAdhanam or to present it as personal gift to your

Family Members and friends on auspicious occasions .

 

adiyEn invites you to join in this year's AkkAravadisil

samarpaNam to Malolan at Selayur (East Tambaram)

on Jan 11 , 2007 .

 

The sponsorship of each Silver vessel of AkkAravadisil

this year would need $60 or Indian Rupees 2,500 . The cost of

making the Silver vessel alone in these days of enhanced price of

Silver is Rs.2,400 . The remaining Rs.100 goes towards

the coverage of cost of rich ingredients used for the SamarpaNam

and other incidental expenses .

 

It is a great soubhAgyam to sponsor silver vattils of

AkkAravadisil to Malolan on this sacred day and recieve

your samarpaNa vattil for your poojaa graham from

the hands of Sri Lakshmi Nrusimha AarAdhakar

on that day .

 

Poet SrivilliputthUr Azhagar has captured very well

the appearance of the JyOthrimaya Murthy enjoying

the Paanakam offering this way. adiyEn has taken

the liberty to substitute Paanakam with akkAravadisil

and seek Sri Azhagar's permission . Here is how

(Meaning) : Our Lord Azhagiya Singar beams with joy

as He seats His dear consort on His left lap and enjoys

the loving offering of Akkaaravadisil from His BhakthAs

at Ahobilam .He sports a sweet smile as He enjoys

the company of His Devi and the delightful akkAravadisil .

 

Among the ten avathArams of the Lord , Sri NrusimhAvathAram

is very special from the perspective of Bhaktha RakshaNam

and Dhushta nigraham . ANDAL and Her dear Father have

celebrated the Vaibhavam of Lord Narasimhan in many of

their Pasasurams . SrivilliputthUr poet Azhagar refers to

the uniquenes of Sri NrusimhAvathAram as celebrated by

ANDAL and seeks the anugraham of ANDAL , who blessed us

with the Muktha BhOgAvaLi of AkkAravadisil in the 27th Pasasuram

of ThiruppAvai ( KoodArai vellum Seer Govindha) .
