The external purity is attained by water and internal by truth-That is ThirukkuRaL What is purity in our parlance. thUimai Avadhu -Bhagawadh sparsam. ..thUimai tharuvadhu -Bhagawadh sambandham That is for thUya peru-nEr. The yamunA becomes pure because of krshNA sparisam. When Sri VibhEshaNAzvAn surrendered unto Chakravarthith Thirumagan, he did not seek any special purity by taking bath in the 'samudhram'. If one tries to become pure apart from Bhagavath sambandham, he becomes impure. BhavGawadh sambandham ozhiya suddhi sambAdhikkaiyAvadhu- asudhanAgiayiREA -SvAmi Azhagaiya MaNavALap perumAL NAyanAr. The GopikAs take bath partially sometimes only to the body or only to the head. Their prime focus was on Lord krshNA which bequeathed them wiht immense purity.
