Guest guest
Om Om Everyone. I simply want to ask everyone, what is the significance of this creation, why it was menifested? Had it not been better for the almighty God to rest in peace and let the individual souls also rest in peace. I see despite so many beautiful things in this world, a lot of misery is there. First the God alowed us to be there in the world and then ask us to merge with him. Why is it like that? Please clarify.
Guest guest
I think nobody could answer this question ecxept a God realised One. Some replies could be as follows - an attempt 1. Thereis no creation at all - thinik it is called ajata vadam--one school 2. What all you see as creation is 'midhya' not real as in the case of a dream--another school. some say it is not real because it is ever changing 3. Why bother about others -find out why you are not at peace? what prevants you from being at peace-some say 4. If it is accepted as God's creation- it must be perfect-though it appears to you otherwise. This is because we do not have full knowledge. When we know whatever that should beknown then only we could understand. Elders say that knowledge comes with Realization only- 5. Elders say- you are already Reaized- only thing is to remove the ignorance of identification with the body to remain realized What all I said above is only from a state of bookish knowledge. Guest guest
Pranams Shri Agrawal-ji The answers to "why?" lies in the "trap of causality". The Lord cannot be infinite and still create something. that something will be other than Him and thus be a limiting adjunct to Him. Thus this creation is a creationless creation. It is beginingless in the sense that time (and hence space) itself is a product of it. Our minds and intellects being products of and very much entrenched in this time-space brahmanda, are forced to think in a cause-effect relationship. I see a pot-it must have a material as well as a efficient cause - because the pot as a entity stands separate from the efficient cause that created it. In the case of ishwara and jagat there is nondifference. The jagat IS ishwara - ishavasya idam sarvam - to say Ishwara "created" this jagat is hence not entirely valid. At the same time, the jagat that we cognize - the duality that is apparent - has to be accounted for. The existence of this jagat is because it is Brahman and hence IS. Its noncognizance (as Brahman)is due to avidya - Hence "maya". Ishwara is the ever-peaceful - in fact He is peace, He is bliss. There is a melodious song by Lata which echoes this beautifully "ishwar satya hai satya hi shiv hai shiv hi sundar hai jaago uthkar dekho ye jeevan jyot ujaagar hai satyam shivam sundaram"! Yes there is a "lot of misery" But, in fact the only misery, the only suffering, is really ignorance, that is brought on by Maya. It is ever at the relative plane alone. There is no question of "us" merging with "Him" - if we were ever separate from Him, merging with Him would be impossible. We are Him - already - right at this very moment in time and place - we have to KNOW this fact. And that is what Vedanta so beautifully unfolds. On a different note, I am glad some old friends have re-joined this forum - sankaraman-ji and durga-ji - welcome back. A word of thanks to Subbu-ji for those uplifting pics of Meenakshi kovil.
