Guest guest
Namaste Sabine, You made an interesting comment below. There is song that says to the effect that the future will never come! As a corollary, the past cannot be relived either. Nonetheless, a recent newspaper article mentions of a physicist who is developing a theory that time is like a movie film. We can either go forward or backward depending on what you want to experience. As such, any changes one makes in the past will alter the events in the future. Given these views, it appears to me that our present moment is the focal point, or the fulcrum, that balances the events of the past against the possible events in the future. In effect, our present consciousness has a critical role in interpreting the past and foreseeing the future. Guest guest
Namaste John, dear friends, Paramhansa Yoganda mentioned quite often, that you could see life as something like a movie where the main actors come and go, you are kind of stationary and react accordingly to the clues given, til the curtain falls. Regarding to the scientist discovery, you mentioned : to develop a theory is one thing, but to play actively a part in it, would be a different story. Lets assume you could go back and alter the past, then how would you know WHAT to change in order to alter the outcome to YOUR liking/desires/wishes in the future?? How would you know, which part is the key for a different future? Remember the movie "Groundhog Day"? A man repeating a day of his life until he got it "right".....he got it right in the end, because the script writer thought, it would be the right thing for the character and most of all for the audience. Be nice and do the right thing - according to the norm of this current society. I am so extremely grateful, that i will have not the chance to go through this kind of experience and that a higher power is making the choices for me. I totally trust, accept that power, the older i get the more i do. For example, lets say - if i would not have had cravings for green beans November 1970, i wouldnt have gone to this particular super market (because the other one was closed) , wearing a red hat - then i wouldnt have bumped into this man at the freezer section, who is now my husband and makes my life, children etc miserable..... If i instead would have worn no hat, craved parsley, found a parking spot at the local farmers market, my life would have been a different one???? On and on and on - it would be the never ending story. Yes of course, our present consciousness is crucial to interpret the past and (maybe) the future. I would have judged events much differently even one year ago. I never finished (yet) an amazing book. "The Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot. Try to find it - it has a totally different slant on awareness/choices. Blessings and love to all, Sabine http://pbase.com/stetsa valist, "John" <jr_esq wrote: > > Namaste Sabine, > > You made an interesting comment below. Guest guest
Hello John and Sabine, In a way, I agree with you both. I think that if one studies the past too much one gets caught in it and there is no present and no future because the present is immersed in the past and your back is turned to the future. John says, "our present consciousness has a critical role in interpreting the past and foreseeing the future." It seems to me that the present is not only critical, but is ALL that there is, and that's why they say all time happens at once. Afterall, if you truly live in the present, alive to the moment, you'll see the lessons unfold that are the most valuable asset of the past, and you'll see the future as it unfolds as that is what the present is. Man, it is way past my bedtime. Goodnight!
