The 21st day of December is a very special day because....it is Rick's

birthday! Dear brother Rick, we are all celebrating today, wishing

you a very happy birthday! Please listen to the bees buzzing around

this beautiful birthday flower we picked just for you in Ramakrishna's

Garden of Eternal Bliss, and imagine us singing:

Thank you for the inspiring birthday message. The divine laughter of

Maa is precious beyond words. I can remember as a child when my mother

would become tickled at something she saw or heard. She would

sometimes laugh so hard that she had to get up and go into another

room to compose herself. The sound of her chuckle and giggle resonates

in my ears after all these years. She always appreciated a good joke,

and watching our cats play provided her with many good laughs.

 

Kali Maa is much the same to me. Her laughter springs from Her own

divine play in my life. She acknowledges the world of forms, and

giggles because She knows it all to be mere props on a stage. These

are all fancy decorations She has hung to help me to see Her. I think

I spend too much time with seriousness and not enough time with

laughter. After all, laughter is the shortest distance between two people.
