Guest guest
sri: srimathe ramanujaya nama: Priya bhagavadotamas, now we are going to see concluding part ..... >From 1000th Tirunakshatram.. The 1010th Thirunakshatram of Periya Nambi, which falls on Maargazhi Maasam, Ketai (Jyeshta) thirunakshatram was celebrated on a grand scale, as the members of the Thirumaligai have been doing for the past ten years. Though Thirunakshatram celebrations have been happening year after year for a long time at this Thirumaligai, in the last ten years upanyaasams have also taken place, making the event more special. Arangan honouring Acharyas: Sunderajachari Swamy pointed out the unique significance of the way in which Lord Ranganathar honoured Periya Nambi and other Acharyas on their Thirunakshatrams, as compared to the way in which the Azhwars are honoured. Incidentally, Tondaradippodi Aazhwar's thirunakshatram fall's on the same day. Azhwar comes to Periya Perumal's Chandana mantapam, and here he is honoured by tying the Parivettum, which is placed at Lord Ranganathar's thiruvadi, on his thirumudi. Then the garland which Lord Ranganathar has adorned is bestowed upon Azhwar, subsequently Shatari, theertham and ghoshti sevakalam happens. This is the way in which Tondaradippodi Azhwar is honoured on his thirunakshatram, as are all the other Azhwars on theirs. Prasadam and Goshti kramam: For Acharyas such as Periya Nambi and Manavala Mamunigal, they don't have to go to Periya Perumal's Chandana mantapam, instead Ranganathar Himself sends all the items for honoring them to their Thirumaligai itself. 'Maryadai' happens according to temple rituals and is carried out by the representatives of the Kovil at the Thirumaligai itself. In concurrence with this, the Periya Nambi Thirumaligai received Periya Perumal's thiruvastram, prasadams, vethlai etc. They received one and a half padi of rice, 168 dosas which were distributed to all the people who performed kainkaryam and all the Srivaishnavas around the Kovil etc. The Ghosthi recites Thiruppavai, Thiruppazhiyezhuchi, Strotra Ratna and Upadesharathinamalai only, as the Thirunakshatram is during Anadyayanakaalam. Journey still being continued: This year, the 46th generation of the family spent more than eight hours, without a break in their Kovil Azhwar and performed all the kainkaryas in a detailed and organized manner. It is an inspiration to the youngsters of our Sampradayam, who bear the responsibility of striving to keep alive the glory of our Purvacharyas and to carry out their words to the extent possible in today's world. We must constantly remember that we are blessed to be aware of Ramanuja Siddhantham, and it is no less than a pleasure to keep it alive and perpetuate its greatness for future generations to come.
