Guest guest
Note from the moderator: We thank Sri Lakshmi narasimhan to have brought out the concepts in Srivaishnavism in a very appropriate manner and support his point of preseving old divyadesams and abhimana stalams than building new temples. Dear All, adiyEn am first apologizing at the feet of everyone, as this post might provide a different view of those who are staunch hanumAn upAsakAs. Please pardon me as I have no intent to offend anyone. I am trying to state some facts over here that is all. Also, please do not feel that the language is rude. Sometimes, as we state facts that are bitter, it might assume rudity while the intent is not. It is to nail certain important points deep into our minds that such posts are made. 1. Sri Vaishnavism had never ever encouraged Hanuman being worshipped separately, nor in all these forms like panchamuka vadivam etc. This is entirely against our tradition in the first place. Moreover, hanumAn himself is a staunch bhaktha of Perumal(Chakravarthu Thirumagan). Would he be happy if others praise him as the lord with other heads as varaha, narasimha etc? I feel moderators should have atleast added few comments over this 2. upAsana, in any form, for the sake of benefit, treating any other deity other than sriman narayanA as the object of upAsana is severely condemned is Vedas itself and hence Sri Vaishnavam never ever favors such activities. 3. I still am not able to digest one thing. People are building new temples and are collecting funds for same. While there are so many divyadEsams that are not being provided with even basic funds to support a) nitya thiruvArAdanam b) thaligai c) salary for archakAs, parichArakAs etc. In kAnchipuram, other than VaradarAja swamy kovil, we have 12 to 13 other temples which are divyadEsams. How many of us really care of the pacchai vaNNar, pavaLa vaNNar and all there? They are awaiting our serice - which is the speciality of archai i.e. He will take care of us in kaliyuga, but would depend on us to take care of him. As true vaishnavites, if at all we have to do something, think about serving a divyadEsam or abhimAna kshEtram. Take a resolution on every tamil new year that our family will support atleast one divyadEsam for the next one year for atleast one of the activities mentioned above. Simply building new temples and making those popular is very much in line with mAmunigaL's saying "munnor mozhindha muRai thappudhal" and "thannenjil thottrinadhe sollal / seidhal". In rAmEswaram, people are praising and worshipping sivaperumAn thinking that sri rAmA worshipped sivaperumAn. While we make no attempts to object or atleast to guide the people in the right way, what is the point in creating new places for worship? 4. Someone may verify the following: I heard from an AgamA expert that the idol size of sri hanuMan must match the size of a vAnaram in proportion to that of the human form (Sri rAma to Sri hanuMan is 2:1) that is half the size of perumal idol in the same temple. Yes, hanuMan did assume huge forms etc, but that is not meant for worship. adiyEn, dAsan. ramanuja, Rajagopalan Narayan <rajagopalannarayan wrote: > > A new viswarupa anjaneya temple has come up at tiruvelore under the graceful guidance of srimantramurti Dasn Venkatesa Dikshithar. a vaishnava hanumath yogiThe temple is in periakuppam village.
