Guest guest
Dear Ankita ji, Assuming that you are the one that *needs* the gem and not vice versa -- the meaningful question should have been: Which gemstone do I deserve? <Oh Sigh -- There Goes Again The Vedic Ogre! {emoticon for 'rolling one's eyes!> I must confess I am biased about gemstones to a certain extent! Negatively!! I have written and shared in the past about Shyamu Joshi, my dearest friend who was a gemstone fanatic and through his obsession with gemstones and quick-fixes was one that I observed in near-awe in the 70s as I was learning applied astrology among other things, some technical even! Having written all that I will not rehash it again, as some astro-writers tend to. <Hey -- this is infectious, if you catch my drift> Sri KN Rao has written many books but the one on karma and reincarnation is a very important one. He makes a very strong statement against use of gemstone in that and his true humility shines forth in the case history he shares when he predicted a c-section! Quite honestly, I feel privileged to have experienced his direct presence on Ben Collins' list for many years. Just like Raman (and I see no one else really and I have been following the jyotish scene for some decades), K.N. Rao has been a godsend to us jyotishis! And it is very clear in his chart he shares with all freely, as BV Raman did why the two were connected and shared with all of us. Frankly, some of Rao's earlier writings and what seemed like a tirade against Raman bothered me, shook me and even made me angry but over the years I understand what it was. Sri K.N. Rao was just telling like he saw it and I truly believe HE has seen a lot, perhaps seen it all as far as the indian jyotish scene is all about. Back in 1990s when I was less controversial and {naively} 'happier' with the jyotish scene worldwide, my illusion of how beatific and beautiful things were was shattered by a simple email! It was from a very prominent gemstone dealer. Without any introduction, without any previous contact, the dealer who claimed to be the only provider of quality vedic gemstones was laying before me a plan as to how I can get a substantial commission out of each referral! An email like that sent to a pretty much 'unknown' jyotishi (though there were not that many of us around back then!) was an eye opener! Shyamu had died in an accident by then, but whenever I saw the blind obsession in many other 'Shyamus' that are alive -- I tried to reach out and help! Guest guest
Dear Ankita, As far as this lifetime goes, I have an advantage over you! When I look back, I see a longer road behind me! Based on that I can assure you that one thing is constant. Creation is cyclical. In the seeming chaos, the one thing that will not change is that patterns exist, and they repeat in cycles, in something as brief and reproducible and personal as the cycle of breathing, all the way to the breathing of Brahma which may or may not be literal but simply metaphorical. Somewhere in between lie the cycles of years, the cycles of lunar other astronomical cycles and the daily even that we call the cycle of night and day. When the soul feels lost, hopeless, the deepest point of night may have already been experienced. Whether you are looking or not, at the horizon, dawn is sure to follow. Don't lose your hopes -- I will write to you.
