Three days ago I was talking with a bank manager in Kolkata. He is very friendly, likes ISKCON and is a pious man. He mentioned that he had once seen Srila Prabhupada speak, when we held programs in Nellore at the beginning of 1976. He said he still remembered his face. Then he said "Prabhupada was poisoned." He was stating it as a fact, and looking to me for confirmation. I was very surprised. I assured him this was simply false propaganda and I asked him where he had heard this. He said his wife had seen a whole program about it on one of the TV channels just two or three days before. He didn't know which TV station it was however. I think someone from ISKCON's side should look into this and find out exactly what that program was and who was behind it. It was enough to convince an ordinary man like a bank manager that it was true, and it should be refuted as soon as possible.
