Guest guest
OM NAMAH SIVAYA Merry CHRISTmas to everyone here, Maa and Swamiji. the recent posts concerning parenting makes it very apparent what a difficult task it is to be a parent. it also reminded me a story i recently read that i thought i would share in case it of benefit to anyOne. God Bless all. The Butterfly A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly. What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. Guest guest
Namaste Thank you for the story. I realize that my child is growing, and going through some very difficult times, but I like the man with the scissors find it difficult to watch. I guess I need to be more willing to trust that all will be well. Guest guest
Merry Christmas to one and all and special ones to our dear Shree Maa and Swamiji, as we all celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus, and light up the 8th Hanukkah Lamp on the menora, and begin the Kwanzaa festival, et al... Holy thoughts on this holy day, become part of the rituals of our inner cleansing and refurbishing our strengths, and Shree Maa and Swamiji have always maintained that unique equality of thought and action at all times and honoring all religions, which in itself, is very noble and laudable. How mean spirited should one become to refuse the glory of GOD in all HIS +HER manifestations , forms and shapes. Let's banish these small and insignificant thoughts and busy ourselves in singing the glory of our Ishta Devathas, and praise our Kali Maa and plead to HER to be remove our inner darkness. Just as the butterfly will attempt to struggle out of its smallest orifice, our inner selves also try so hard to extricate our karma- bandhans and past egos through the narrowest paths known to be ever shrinking, and ever fleeting grasping in vain, temporary lifesaving- loops given to us in our daily worldly streams of life , in all its majesty. At least we have the lasting support of the Devi Mandir families and the loving guidance from Shree Maa and Swamiji. Just imagine the fate of the millions who are yet to perceive, grasp and hold on to these percpetions. Let us count our blessings and cherish our rich thoughts and engage in our perennial pursuit of that maya and happiness from the endless search for more Divine Wisdom and supportive bhava from those that matter annd are our dear to us. Merry Christmas and HAPPY NEW YEAR, to one and all. Lovingly Vijaya and Babu Krishnan Boston babuk1008
