Bhakti Shastri Course , 24th November 2006 (2063.08.08) His grace Atul Krishna Das from Australia had conducted Bhakti Shastri Course at IYF center, Kathmandu from November 23rd to 27th , 2006. Around 15 prabhuji & 15 matajis attended this programme. A comment by one of the devotees attending the programme is as following: This is definitely a scientific way of presenting talk programme on shastra. Harinam Bhajan Kirtan The temple has began daily Harinam bhajan kirtan from 4pm to 6pm. This programme has been started with the objective of developing of Akhada Kirtan in the future. Different devotees have been assigned to participate in this programme on different days. Sachi Mata Vaishnavi Sangh The temple also has initiated Sachi Mata Vaishnavi Sangh. This Sangh's main objective is to conduct sat sanghs, specially for matajis. This programme is held from 11am - 12 noon everyday Saturday. In this programme the matajis feel more comfortable to open up their minds and share experiences.On every sat sangh, one spiritul lesson through story is taught and one new bhajan is also taught. Such programme had been held for last five Saturdays. In this programme spiritual as well as general topics as health, cooking and other domestic subjects are being discussed.The ashram matajis as well as matajis living near the temple and matajis regularly attending the temple programmes are invited to attend this programme. Gita Jyanti, 9th December 2006 (2063.08.15) Gita Jyanti is one of the important functions of Iskcon. On this day a large procession of devotees (Prabhuji/ Mataji) went on a parikrama from IYF center Bagbazar to Ratnapark, RNAC, New Road, Bishal Bazar, Indra Chowk, Hanuman Dhoka & Basantpur.The objective of this parikram is to popularise the Bhagawat Gita philosophy in Kathmandu and Nepal. In this parikrama a life size picture of Bhagavat Gita book (with Lord Krishna giving message to Arjuna) was carried by four devotees on their shoulders. On this day IYF devotees distributed Books: Mahabig book as Bhagawat Gita , Krsna Katha, and Srimad Bhagawatam - 42 ,Big Book - 4 , Medium Book 11, Small Book-150 Also in the morning all the devotees gathered in the temple room and started reciting different chapters of Bhagavat Gita within 15 minutes' time, the 18 chapters of Bhagavat Gita was recited. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur's Disappearance Day (2063.08.23) On this day the temple observed the disappearance of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur. His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur is Guru of His Divine Grace Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. HH is also the son of Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura who is also one the gurus in the disciplic succession. His Divine Grace Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur is also the disciple of Gaura Kishor Babaji who is also one of gurus in the disciplic succession. His Divine Grace is also renown for learning by heart all the slokas of Bhagawat Gita at the age of 7. At the age of 18, His Holiness had mastered Astrology. At the age of 25 His Divine Grace had also made deep study of Sanskrit and Vedas and His Holiness was awarded the title of " Sidhanta Saraswati".
