Rather, if you take your information from a database, you first cite the original source and then the database from which you pulled it. That way, you give your readers a clear path to the material you're citing, and you're alerting them as to the version you used (which might differ from other versions). If you've cited many works, drawing all of them from a database, you could cite all the works individually, preceded or followed by a blanket statement that you pulled them all from such-and-such database.
