Following is the essence Preamble Part of Puja to be done before any Puja or Sadhana. Forgive me if I have spelt Sanskrit words differently. All the samagri's mentioned are available from Guru Dham Jodhpur/Delhi or Sadhana Shivirs. Disciple sits (sukhasan or Padmasan) on stipulated Asan, facing East or North or stipulated direction. Wears Pitamber Dhoti (yellow Dhoti). Has Guru Paduka or Guru Chitra in front - sitting on a piece of Seat (yellow Cloth on a plate). Has Pancha Patra -(water container and spoon) Chandan (paste or dust), Astha Gandha (dust), Kum Kum (dust), Flower petals, Bel Patra leaves, Fruit and Prasad ready. Suchi Karan - Cleansing the Puja Place, Puja material(s) and people doing Puja. Place a spoonful of water on your left palm cover with right palm and Chant Apavitro Pavitro wa Sarva Wastaam Gatopi wa Yas Mareta Pundari Kakchya Sa Bahya Antara Suchi. After Chanting sprinkle the water all over Puja place and yourself. Cleansing Innner self Take one spoonful of water on your right palm and drink(suck with your lips) it palm three times. Each time chant the following mantras after placing water on the palm and before drinking. Om Amrito Pastara Masi Swaha OM Amrita Pidhanamasi Swaha Om Satyam Yasha Shrimayi Shriyataam Swaha Shikha Bandhan (setting up your self ) With your right hand touch the top of your head and Chant. Chidru Pini Maha Maye Divya Teja Samyanite Thistha Devi Shikha MadhyeTejo Vridhim Karo tu me. Nyas (Energising Body Parts) Take another spoonful of water in your left palm. Dip you right hand fingers and touch the following body parts chanting.... Om Bang Me Asyesthu (lips) Nasor Me Pranostu (Nostrils) Chakchyor Me Tejostu (eyes) Bahyor Me Bala Mastu (both arms) Aristami Me Angani Santu (whole body) Disha Bandhan (warding of unwanted evils) Take another spoonful of water or a few grains of rice in your left palm. Dip/pick and sprinkle all aound yourself. Chanting.... Apa Sarvantu Ye Bhuta, Ye Bhuta Bhumi Sansthitha, Ye Bhuta Vighna karta Raste Nashantu ShivaGya ya. YOU ARE READY FOR PUJA NOW. Ganapati Dhyan - Ganapati has the right to get initial Puja granted by Mahadev, hence Ganapati pujan first. Bring your palms together (namaskar psotion) and chant. OM Sumukhas Chaiva Dantascha, Kapilo, Gaja Karnaka, Lambo Dharascha, Vikato, Vighnha Nasho Vinayaka, Dhumra Ketur Gana Dhakchyo, Bhala Chandro Gajanana. Dwadashei Tani na Mani Yah Pateth Chirnu Dayapi. VidyaRambe Viwahaye cha Parveshe Nirgame Tatha Sangrame Sankate Chaiva Bighna Tashya Na jayate. Offer Ganeshjee - Water, Chandan, Kumkum, Flower, Prasad and water again. Guru Dhyan I will complete the Guru Pujan in the next session.
