thirucciRRambalam

Meaning:

Wearing old (hardened) turtle, young snake

and the budding horn of boar,

dried out skull as the bowl taking alms

the Thief Who steals my mind

is this Lord of thiruppiramApuram,

Who rode the bull, Whose ornated foot is

saluted with folded hands by the great

people who learn and listen!

Notes:

1. The words used in the song are just lively.

The turtle is old, snake is young and

the boar horn is just budding!

brahma's skull described as vaRRal ODu

is enjoyable.

2. kaRRal kETTal uDaiyar periyAr -

nice description of respectable people -

they learn and experience and listen to others

wise words and experience.

3. Enam - pig/boar; kalan - vessel; pali - alms;

peRRam - bull.
